Subject: What Magazines Do You Get?
What magazines do you subscribe to or frequently buy at a newsstand? I don't get anything right now-- I forgot to renew my subscribtions :-/
Subject: Re: What Magazines Do You Get?
Sometimes I'll buy Spin or Rolling Stone. Once in a while, I'll buy a fashion magazine, but only because I need something to line the bottom of my bird cage! :D
Subject: Re: What Magazines Do You Get?
I get Reader's Digest. My mom renews that subscription for me. I buy DMA (Dance Music Authority) or DJ Times every once in a while. I get monthly catalogs/flyers from ProSound, Mars Music, Hot Tracks, DJ Wholesale Club, etc...
The last magazine I bought was an Entertainment Weekly at LAX last month (needed something to read on the flight home).
Subject: Re: What Magazines Do You Get?
I read too many books, but I keep meaning to subscribe to The Stage... hmmm..note to self......
Subject: Re: What Magazines Do You Get?
I subcribe to Popular Mechanics, and PC world. I used to subscribe to Popular Science, but they change there format.
I Buy Maxium, Sport Compact Car, and Car and Driver occasionally.
Subject: Re: What Magazines Do You Get?
None. The only magazines I ever bought on a regular basis were the Twilight Zone Magazine in the 1980s and Marion Zimmer Bradley's magazine, but it's not being produced anymore since she's dead. Maybe once a year someone will buy me a Writer's Digest.

I subscribe to TV Guide, OnSat, and Satellite Direct. I have cable TV but I'm an information junkie; and still I have to go to the Web to get the channels that aren't listed in those three! I also subscribe to Popular Communications (a magazine about radio; I'm also a radio junkie) and buy its rival, Monitoring Times, at the only place in town that sells it! I always buy Weekly World News, America's most ludicrous tabloid, every week if possible.
Subject: Re: What Magazines Do You Get?
At 1 time I got too many. I'll try to recall what I'm getting now.
German Shepherd Dog Review, Insight, Military History, Antique Automobile, Mechanical Engineering. I think that's it, and it's enough (besides my parents' subscriptions which I also peruse)!
In the past I've gotten American Spectator and Coins, and I don't have the time right now to remember what others if any....have to meet co-worker in a minute!
Subject: Re: What Magazines Do You Get?
Private Eye - if that counts as a magazine. For you chaps over in the US, it's a satirical fortnightly publication well worth the £19 subscription...

Subject: Re: What Magazines Do You Get?
I never subscribe, I wait for Q magazine to come out at 10p a magazine. I buy... ten at a time? -ish.
Subject: Re: What Magazines Do You Get?
I get Islands, Hawai'i, Muscle and Fitness Women, Sunset, Parents, Parenting and Quick Cooking. And I read them all plus a book or two every week.
Subject: Re: What Magazines Do You Get?
Only Maxim. Used to get Archaeology, Entertainment Weekly and Playboy but let all expire.
Every now and again I'll purchase Biblical Archaeology Review, Military History or M.H.Q. (Military History Quarterly) but only if they contain articles that interest me.
Subject: Re: What Magazines Do You Get?
I alway renew my subscription to National Geographic. I've been getting them since 1991, and I keep all of them. They come in handy for school reports, and the information in them is usually more up to date than the encyclopedias.
I also subscribe to Mad and Cosmopolitan. My daughter gets Nickelodeon's magazine.
Subject: Re: What Magazines Do You Get?

Subject: Re: What Magazines Do You Get?
I get Cosmo, Better Homes and Gardens, Ladies Home Journal and Playgirl.

I get Maxim, it's a total rag, but it's fun sometimes
Entertainment Weekly, keeps me up to date on pop culture, I'm such a pop culture junkie.. I probably read the whole thing cover to cover
Wired.. cool stuff, not hardcore technical stuff, but sometimes they have an interesting article or two
I used to get dozens of technical magazines, to keep up with the software biz, until I realized I never read them.. and that most of the articles were clearly written to sell some new whiz bang tool or another..
Kat: Mad Magazine, that's one of those magazines I always wanted to subscribe to, but never did.. I did however pick up the 6 CD-ROM box set with all the back issues.. can't say I read too many of them, but it was still fun to flip through
