Subject: Should we cut back on the games and such?
Summer is almost over, and I expect we'll see more "normal" activity on the site in a month or so.. should we try and limit the amount of games by then? I don't want the games to overshadow what the messageboards are about..
Subject: Re: Should we cut back on the games and such?
and I of course mean in the non-quiz messageboards...
Subject: Re: Should we cut back on the games and such?
yea, you right. there just seems to be games on here ever since I started those threads. yea they're fun, but ya know. are ya ever gonna start that message section to talk about parodies and such? that was a very good idea.
Subject: Re: Should we cut back on the games and such?
Well, why not put them together in a Quiz/Games board? Not possible? What were the other summers like?
Subject: Re: Should we cut back on the games and such?
but these posts have given us something to do this summer...and has kept alot of people around....

Maybe I'm a little out of it, but isn't that what the Misheard Lyrics messageboard is for? And if I can recall correctly, there were a lot of people who were not very nice to some of the contributers...

I don't think that they have gotten out of hand. There for a while, no one was posting anything at all. People were just logged in and not doing anything except exchanging pm's. I really don't believe that they are overshadowing the other boards. I agree with southernspitfire in that they have kept some of the new members around this summer.

Yes, that's true to a certain extent...but I am so hideously slow that I gave up on some of the threads...you guys are always quicker on the uptake than me!!! I was feeling pretty DUH!

There does seem to be a lot of games recently, Maybe people are having trouble comming up with meaningful topics?

I am not all that great at starting threads.... :-[

Nor me... but I enjoy playing the games! Specially the music ones.

I totally agree with you. I sometimes feel as if I have nothing left to say - especially on the 80's board. Think I've exausted most topics from the music and fashion of the 80's! I hope we can all think of some good, new threads soon :)

I don't see any reason to worry... I'm sure things will sort themselves out once there are more people posting. And let's face it, even a "slow" summer on this board provides much more traffic than the old board ever got.

Coming from the old board myself, I totally agree.

I know we should be returning to the nostalgic intent of the messageboards. But let's face it, we've have some, to put it mildly, heated discussions and that other not familiar with our personalities are taking too personally. A good ratio of games and constructive discussions would be feasable and fun. Whatever you do Chucky, please don't change anything else. We like it just as it is. ;)

I just think that the games should all be on the quizzes board. I get tired of trying to look around them to find topics to read. I liked the games at first, but they get boring to me.

I pretty much stop playing them when I run out of movies to scramble, albums to mix up, bands and singers to chain, questions to ask, things to say about the board that start with certain letters, compound words to make..
