Subject: The Poetry Thread
Well am not sure who writes and who doesn't here, but here's a chance to show off your writing talents. About a year or two ago I wrote a few poems and thought I share them here to get thoughts from others. Here's one:
No matter how far we are apart
You'll always be in my heart
No matter where I stand or lay
I'll think about you every single day
No matter who I am or who I'll be
My love belongs to you, for eternity
No matter who I am or who I'm with
It's only you I want to be with
No matter if I'm tired or wide awake
I'm willing to take you out for a romantic date
No matter if you sick or healthy
I'll always be with you, poor or wealthy
No matter if I'm listening to the radio or a CD
I will truely love you, and I'll make you see
'Cause whenever I'm with you
My worst days are never blue
And by the way, I Love You too ..... GOD BLESS
more to come soon. post your own here or make comments on others.

Ah, but what do I know about poetry? This is probably my favorite poem I've written:
Snowman
In a snow filled,
ice encrusted field
I built a single snowman
and named it after
everyone who ever left me.
With my thinly gloved hands
proving ice burns as much as fire
I turned my back
and walked away, thinking
this time I'm leaving you.
An icicle cracked and fell
from a distant tree
and I knew it was
the sound of your heart breaking.
How could I leave you knowing that?
In a wild panic
I wanted to run home
and tear the shelves out of my freezer
To make you a new home.
but reason called me crazy
for even thinking such a thought.
And so my frozen ice man
there was no way I could save you.
Everyday the sun shone brighter
taking more and more of you away.
In a mud filled,
barren little field
I mourned a single puddle.
He had left me too.

Very nice Sagnastian.
I don't normally put my poetry out in public, for fear of having it plagerized, but these two I have already had published so:
ismene
wasn't stubborn
she knew
life
worth more'n
ritual
she paid
no sacrifice
she retained
her robes & royalties
if she wavered
a moment
to save face
is forgivable
leave sister
stupid w/ honor
relief ismene
she knew
the gods don't
care
where
death drops us.

Here is my second one:
Rock 2: Creed
we are infidel
we are mad
forcing fates
and cornering time;
eye-glint of genius
admits a whisper
of grey eternity waiting
just beyond
the shadow of night
we dare to challenge
this darkness
in exchange
for its grandest light
we go in knowlege
we go despised
and blessed
w/no despair
but still we go

Nice poems, Zella. I put my poetry on my website but I have a copyright notice at the bottom of all my pages. And some of my poems have been published, so if someone tried to steal them...

Good idea! 'Course if someone tried to steal our poems, we probably would never know anyway....! I just figure all my poetry is going to die with me, since I doubt there will be anyone around to gather it up a la Emily Dickenson.... ::)

A shadow in the corner with nothing to hide except all the fears he feels inside.
A face of beauty with a negative mind where he’s going in life is what he must find.
To help him out is something I try but you and I know he’s still dieing inside.
To him this is nothing to him this is fine, but one day the shadow will be gone and the summer sun will shine.

Here's one I posted back in April....before the crash, about my late son Blaine:
I Hurt So Much For Loved Ones,
They Have All Been Through This Hell,
Yet I Feel So Alone And Empty,
For It Is My Sadness, I Cannot Tell,
And Though Our Blaine Has Left Us,
I Feel That He's Alright,
Yet Nobody Shall In This World Again See,
His Eyes That Shown So Bright

R&RF, I remember that from before the crash... I think you posted some others too; all very nice. :)

All of you who posted your poetry here are very talented! I only wish I write like that... *sigh*
