Subject: R.I.P. AudioGalaxy
Their entire network of files is no longer shared. They all have x on them. I felt quite bitter as I was reminded of how Napster was extinguished. :P :( :-/

audiogalxy was pretty good, but there's always other programs out there. am using Winmx right now. the only problem is, if there's a song not on Winmx I usually went to Audiogalaxy and it was there. ahhhhhhhhh, so much for DLing more NB RIDAZ songs.
Subject: Re: R.I.P. AudioGalaxy
That's really a shame. I loved Audiogalaxy, especially for it's "group" feature and also how it would pick up again if a song was cut off for any reason. I guess it's time for me to go and erase the program.... :'(

Another one bites the dust... This isn't exactly a surprise. I knew the greedy record industry would put an end to it sooner rather than later... :-[

I was losing hope as soon as The Everly's "Always Drive A Cadillac" was X'd. Of course, it's not a surprise. People don't like other people wanting free music, we all love it, if only because it broadens each of our general spectra on some of the music that still exists in some form or other.

Interesting article Tarzan Boy.
It is the users that make a program work well....the more users the more files are being shared. Audiogalaxy users will flock to another program....the trick is to find out which one. ;) :D When Napster died it gave birth to programs that surpassed them in many ways.
Audiogalaxy was (IMO) an almost perfect program and they will be missed. It was more than just a file sharing program. :'(

Interesting, indeed. Make sure to read the first installment, as well, walking you through the manufacturing and distribution process.

Yep, just like Beck sang, "He's a loser, baby, so why don't we kill him?" If Beavis & Butt-Head were to return to MTV with all-new episodes, you can bet your @$$ that Beavis won't be wearing a Metallica T-shirt…

Never really thought much about him until this crap.. now I just hate his guts, along with all of us, the honest music industry people, and the guys who benefit from said industry.

So if yous hate Lars for what he has done, does that mean yous hate Dr. Dre and Eminem also for hating people to burn music? I really never cared for Lars or Metalicca persoanlly so I really don't care. I've always liked Dr. Dre and Eminem, but their views of burning doesn't matter to me, even if they did shut down some mp3 thing or came with the new technology.

Their stories are different, though.
Lars and MetallicA disagreed with the whole mp3/file-sharing process, and started all this lawsuit crap.
Dr. Dre/Eminem didn't like that people were bootlegging their music (before it hit stores), which is why he moved his CD release date up a couple weeks.

A most excellent breakdown of the various P2P programs, and the alternatives can be found here: http://www.slyck.com/
(here's a hint, Usenet is still the best for getting rare stuff. alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.bootlegs and the decade boards)
