Subject: it's the yearbook list

Written By: langdon_hughes on 05/26/02 at 10:34 p.m.

Last time I took executive license and did not only the categories, but the recipients. (Which is why there was no Most Likely to be Queen Tyrant category, because then I would have had to vote for me.) This time I've had help, so anything you don't like wasn't mine.

From those we know and love on the board, which boy, girl, or both are:

Most likely to fear crawly things
Most likely to fear puppies and small children
Most likely to sleep naked
Most likely to have an alphabetized spice rack
Most likely to have superpowers
Most likely to have a nightlight
Most likely to give a comforting hug when needed
Most likely to buy a beer when needed
Most likely to give a swift kick in the head when needed
Most likely to have a poster of Val Kilmer on his or her wall
Most likely to make a speech before the academy
Most likely to make a speech before the judge
Most likely to make milk come out your nose

That should do us for now...

Just a friendly warning for when you're answering these questions about your fellow board members:

Lang's yearbook surveys have the power of suggestion!!!

Once upon a time, she mentioned something about a "cutest couple", and my life has never been the same!  :D  ;)  :-*

You may have no idea what you're starting with these sorts of things...  Of course, that having been said:

Most Likely to be Queen Tyrant:  langdon hughes  And I mean that in a VERY good way!

Most likely to give a comforting hug when needed:  cs, youngcricket, Wicked Lester, Jonman  Have done in the past, and I know they would in the future.  I luv you guys!  :D  Around here, who wouldn't give a hug when needed, though?

Most likely to give a swift kick in the head when needed:  same people  I guess that's how I know they're true friends.

Most likely to make milk come out your nose:  on SHOCK value alone, TV9  :o

Most likely to have superpowers:  Kryllith, Fett69, FBVP  Trust me, they have them!  ;D

Biggest ego in the State of Texas:  wait a minute, that wasn't a category...  :P

Most likely to sleep naked:  ME!  Ohhhhhh, you meant other people....  Sorry, too easy.  I know for sure.  In fact, I have pics...  ;D

My turn too, right?

Most likely to fear crawly things: I have a hunch it's Chucky... but it doesn't stop him from smooshing 'em!
Most likely to fear puppies and small children: Kryllith. They lack logic.
Most likely to sleep naked: I'm with the majority on this, MW and TV9
Most likely to have an alphabetized spice rack: Hairspray, but I should add Gis into this mix, she is a librarian. And didn't Bobo organize his cd's according to what chord was used most often or something like that? Oh, his spice rack will probably be organized according to size of leaf...
Most likely to have superpowers: Goldie. She saves babies and there's more to her than meets the eye. FussBudget is pretty crafty too. I suspect x-ray vision at the least.
Most likely to have a nightlight: Lester, but only because I repeatedly stalk him.
Most likely to give a comforting hug when needed:RnRF and Dagny... she's such a good mom.
Most likely to buy a beer when needed: I think Cricket's got this category locked up, and Jessica's driving the getaway car.
Most likely to give a swift kick in the head when needed: Rapture and Bad Angel.
Most likely to have a poster of Val Kilmer on his or her wall: I couldn't begin to guess.
Most likely to make a speech before the academy: Tarzan Boy and Kat
Most likely to make a speech before the judge: Alicia14... and she'll get away with it too! That's mah girl. ;)

Nah, I gave that one up, when me and my friend argued over an Ab and an Ab6. I'm still adamant I'm right, but there you go.

PS: That was just a "what if" discussion, no album that I can remember actually contains an Ab6.

As I don't know many of you very well yet, some of these I will not answer.  Others I may have a guess at.  But a couple I think I know !

Most likely to sleep naked - Mystery Woman, and why in hell does TV9 have a reputation in this area ?
Most likely to have an alphabetized spice rack - Many of you, frankly !
Most likely to have superpowers - Zella, for her quizzing prowess (pre-1977 only, of course, because apparently the music world stopped turning then !  ;)), and Mystery Woman, because she tells us so !
Most likely to give a comforting hug when needed - Many of you, I'm glad to see
Most likely to have a poster of Val Kilmer on his or her wall - NOT FBVP........
Most likely to make milk come out your nose - EWWWWW !

Most likely to fear crawly things - Nobody - you wouldn't be in this place if you're afraid of crawly things
Most likely to sleep naked - MW - I think that's been well enough covered by now
Most likely to have an alphabetized spice rack - What is alphabetized spice?
Most likely to have superpowers - Chucky!!!
Most likely to give a comforting hug when needed - Lots on this forum - it's quite a huggy place
Most likely to buy a beer when needed - Me, for myself anyway ;-)
Most likely to give a swift kick in the head when needed - TarzanBoy
Most likely to have a poster of Val Kilmer on his or her wall - Who?
Most likely to make a speech before the academy - Kryllith
Most likely to make a speech before the judge - TB (as a result of swift kick in the head, no doubt)
Most likely to make milk come out your nose - ¿que?  Some kind of witch doctor, maybe.  Unless it's green and gooey milk.  But still, it's better than making a nose come out of your milk...
Most likely to come up with a topic like this? - Langdon, of course

LAUGH! Actually this is why I like puppies and children. They are so open to having their minds moulded. ;)

Most likely to sleep naked: I'll go with TV9 and MW on this too (I usually do too, but it's not good to think of hideous twits naked)
Most likely to have an alphabetized spice rack: ChuckyG! After all, he's got Hairspray around to organize it for him. :)
Most likely to have superpowers: 80sTrivia; I can't see someone being able to dig up all that information without having superpowers (and I took classes in doing research :P)
Most likely to have a nightlight: TV9 and MW (what's the point in sleeping naked if no one can see you?)
Most likely to give a comforting hug when needed: RnRF and Banasy (when I'm not driving her nuts)
Most likely to buy a beer when needed: If I drank beer than I'd turn to Cricket.
Most likely to give a swift kick in the head when needed: Not sure, but I imagine most of the people that like to get into heavy handed debates would.
Most likely to have a poster of Val Kilmer on his or her wall: Most of the girls, I'd imagine.
Most likely to make a speech before the academy: Bobo or RnRF. You can't have that many posts and not like to make speeches. Course, I'd also fit in the category *winks at Philbo*
Most likely to make a speech before the judge: Alicia14 sounds about right. :)

A couple of these I haven't been here long enough to guess who is "most likely", so those ones I'll skip.

Most likely to fear crawly things Alicia14 and Chucky

Most likely to fear puppies and small children No one has given any obvious hints, so I'll pass on this one

Most likely to sleep naked TV9 and/or Mystery Woman(what an obvious answer)

Most likely to have an alphabetized spice rack Hairspray and Chucky because the site is so organized, I can always find what I'm looking for

Most likely to have superpowers Chucky G.!!!!!!  8) Not only has he put together a cool site, but he fixes any and all problems sooo fast.

Most likely to have a nightlight Can I vote for myself?

Most likely to give a comforting hug when needed Tie RnRF and Banasy

Most likely to buy a beer when needed gonna skip this one

Most likely to give a swift kick in the head when needed Mystery Woman and Hairspray Why else would they have been appointed moderators?

Most likely to have a poster of Val Kilmer on his or her wall Goldie!  ;)

Most likely to make a speech before the academy 80's Trivia and Langdon

Most likely to make a speech before the judge Tarzan Boy and Alicia14 as witnesses for the other side. Both have made me think carefully about my positions on some topics

Most likely to make milk come out your nose Tie: TV9 and Langdon  ;D ;D ;D

And FBVP, having milk come out your nose is not half as bad as having soda come out your nose.  All those bubbles, you know (EEEEEEWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!)

P.S. Has anyone else heard George Carlin's routine on this?  And the "entire cheese sandwich"?

"...Foster's is primarily a Victorian Beer.  Try ordering it in Queensland and the bartender is just as likely to reach over and punch your lights out...you've gotta have a Fourex (or XXXX).

In New South Wales, you'd better order a Tooheys if you know what's good for you, and in Tasmania if you don't ask for a Cascade you'll go thirsty. In South Australia, it's Southwark or nothing.  And on and on it goes.

So the Foster's thing is a bit off the mark - it's like me saying everyone in America drinks BUD..."

well until goldie did it I could have said something nasty about what the guys did to their wrists....but she ruined the moment...and our afternoon in the pool (luv ya anyway brittle bones!!! ;) )

But I would have to say that almost everytime goldie and her crew come down here someone ends up hurt...last summer Jas...my youngest nephew went home on crutches after falling in a ditch shooting off fireworks....goldie fell down my stairs at my house a few years ago and spent weeks in a splint....I think it just runs in the family...I broke my ankle twice last year....once just 3 weeks before our family vacation to Florida..and about the same time our mom stepped in a hole and tore up her ankle.  We all need to be wrapped in bubble wrap!!!! ;D

Speaking of time zones, I would say that FussBudget and all his Aussie pals on this board who live in eastern Australia would be the earliest on this board, unless there's someone from New Zealand we don't know about; and Hawaiians the latest (unless there are some Pacific Islanders who live between the date line and Hawaii).  New Zealand is the first major English-speaking country west of the date line, and if there are any Kiwis here, then they would be the earliest.  If not, then FussBudget and all his Aussie pals on the east coast of Oz would be earliest…

Prompted by Crazydon's post, I have done some very unmethodical and downright shoddy research into this question.

As there are (apparently) no New Zealanders and/or Pacific Islanders on the board (if there are : Come Forward !  Make yourselves known !), and as I am the Easternmost Aussie (Brisbane is eastwards of Ipswich (Reddyrules), Wollongong (mrgazpacho), Sydney (Goreripper), and way ahead of Perth (BrianMannixGirl and the-unheard-from-lately Aphasia)......

I claim the prize !  What's that ?  Simply collect your prize from Virtual Madeline.  >:(  Oh, no...... :(

The thing I can't work out is :

If I'm first, how come I always seem to be coming across things after everyone else  ??? ::)

I like to be technical, especially if it suits me !   ;D

You are of course quite correct, when you have Daylight Saving you win !  We of course are still living in the 1800's because of former beloved (?) State Premier who uttered the immortal statements "It will fade the Curtains" and "The cows will get confused and won't know when to come in and be milked".  Unfortunately they were some of the more intelligent things he said.... ::)

If you move to Byron Bay, perhaps Hoges and Linda will let you bunk in at their little beachside mansion (sorry) "ordinary suburban house"...

As far as I know the furthest ahead of GMT would be far eastern Siberia, the part that's closest to Alaska, and if they are still on summer (or as we Americans call it, Daylight Saving Time) time as they have been since 1918.  (And no, this isn't FussBudget Van Pelt speaking.)  Maybe it might be that Pacific island that moved its time up an hour (or moved itself from the yesterday side to the tomorrow side of the date line) so it would be the first piece of land to see the year 2000…
