I liked to have a piece of bread with peanut-butter on it and a glass of ice-cold milk....so Peanut Butter!
Subject: Re: hardest question of all..peanut butter or jell
Grape Jelly. It tastes good on my eggs :o.
Subject: Re: hardest question of all..peanut butter or jell
What if you like PB AND Jelly? I eat both equally, so I have no preference.
Subject: Re: hardest question of all..peanut butter or jell
I tend to prefer jelly, only because there are so many different flavors.
I like peanut butter now, but as a child, I hated it because my younger brother would eat nothing else. And like most four-year-olds, he almost never washed his face and hands voluntarily. Yeechhh!!

I'm not a big peanut butter or jelly fan. I'll eat them if there's no meat at home.
Subject: Re: hardest question of all..peanut butter or jell
Preserves, my friend. Real Fruit, 100%!!! :)
None of that jellied sweet stuff containing no fruit whatsoever. :P

Dagwood, you beat me to it ! So, to reflect once more :
EWWWW !!!!!
Peanut Butter (although it's called Peanut Paste here)
And WHAT IS Jelly ? Is that what I would call Jam ?
Somebody help me ! To me Jelly is something that is made by mixing jelly crystals and hot water and then cooling in the fridge......I can't imagine putting that on a sandwich.
EWWWW !!!!!

So then the question is :
What is the Tommy Roe song "Jam Up and Jelly Tight" all about ? All sorts of things start coming to mind....... ;)
I'll bet it's not sandwiches (or eggs for Lester and yourself)

Crazydon, you know me too well (but how ?) !
I was gonna say Vegemite, and I do prefer them over the other two, but as the thread wasn't about 'the mighty mite', I didn't mention it, as it seems to be somewhat of an acquired taste (unlike of course grape jelly on eggs which is perfectly natural) ! ;)
One more time, all together now :
EWWWWWW !!!!

Jello is Jelly to Ausies.
Jelly is Jam.
Peanut Butter is Peanut Paste.
I'm getting quite an education out of this thread! :D
As for jelly/jam on eggs, it is quite customary to do so in the egg macmuffins from MacDonald's. ;)

Well Hairspray if you ever come over here you better smuggle some Jelly/Jam past the the Customs officials because you won't find any of that on one of our Egg McMuffins !

Well, I'm pretty laid back, so I usually like things either way (the small things, that is).
OK, I'll choose. I like Peanut Butter better...especially the crunchy kind. YUM! ;)

Subject: Re: hardest question of all..peanut butter or jell
Peanut butter for me. I'm not really into jelly (and like Hairspray said, preserves are so much better anyway).
As for grape jelly on eggs....well all I can say is that my stomach is turning at the mere thought!!!! :o
Subject: Re: hardest question of all..peanut butter or jell
OK, jelly on eggs, and beets and/or fried eggs on burgers.
Both are things I would never have thought of on my own, yet I'm intrigued enough to try them now.
I love this board! It's such an educational experience!
And does anyone else like the flavored peanut butters?

You guys crack me up!
Okay, I like the idea of jelly better; Mom made it from scratch, homemade bread hot from the oven, everybody in our tiny little kitchen...
But when it's balls to the wall, I eat peanut butter. Like DJ said, it goes better with chocolate...
And it's just so gooey.
*edited because I don't know what "homemead" is, but it sounds like my Mom endorsed drinking at a young age*

I'm talking about peanut butter with other stuff added. I had a jar of chocolate peanut butter (that my daughter loves) and a small jar of rasperry flavored peanut butter. I think there is also an apple-spice flavor.
Now I'll have to look again next time I'm at the store.

Here in Sunny Queensland, Australia, I all but enjoy Good ole Smoothy Peanut Paste(Butter). The "jelly" part I can honestly say is something I have not tried as I am unfamiliar with the concept. I always put Peanut Paste on my sandwich first then spread with butter on top..... :P

"Jelly" is a false version of fruit spread. It is made with corn syrup/sugar and artificial flavoring, as opposed to using real fruit and fruit juices. The spread made with real fruit and fruit juices we call "preserves".
Jelly (or preserves) is spread on toast, crackers, with peanut paste to make a peanut paste and jelly sandwich, pancakes, bagels,....
Another popular addition to a peanut paste (butter) sandwich is "marshmallow fluff", with or without the jelly.
