Subject: "Pistol" Pete Maravich....Are His Records Safe

He played college ball in a time when you only were allowed to play varsity for 3 years and he STILL is the all-time leading scorer in college basketball history....with no 3 point line IMO, nobody will come close because nobody is staying in school much anymore......  So, what are your thoughts?

Hey you ever seen the movie Pistol Pete?  That was a great show.  My dad showed it to me when I started playing basketabll in the third grade.  Thought it was great.  The way he passed was just amazing.
As for players moving onto the NBA.  They're just in it for the money and all, but who wouldn't be?  If you have the talent why not?  If a star player decides to stay his senior year and play college ball, he could get injured and not go to the NBA, but that's a small chance, who knows.  Then the NBA wouldn't want him, but then again, he would have his diploma to fall back on.

I think the Maravich record, Ty Cobb's lifetime hitting average, DiMaggio's 56-game hitting streak, George Blanda's lifetime touchdown record, and Gretzky's records are all unbreakable. I think Hank Aaron's record is safe for now that Barry Bonds is injured.
