Subject: Before The Crash Question
I heard somewhere, quite long ago, that the soap operas in Australia ran 5 years prior to the US. In 1990, while, say G.H. would be current, "Down Under" they would be viewing episodes from 1985....does anybody know anything about what I mean, or am I once again just spouting out meaningless rhetoric?! ???
Subject: Re: Before The Crash Question
i'm not sure about soap operas, but i think that primetime shows are often a couple of seasons behind. i don't know why...maybe it's something to do with syndication standards or something.

After some extensive reasearch (asking someone who watches them) here is where we are at :
Days of our Lives :
Susan's not dead - she's alive !!!
Edmund married Kristen thinking she was Susan (does this mean he was trying to be a necrophiliac ?)
Young & Restless :
Dianne has re-married Victor Newman
Bold & Beautiful :
Brooke is having Bridget's husband's baby
It turns out that Ridge is the CEO of Forrester
So there it is ! Can someone please satisfy my curiosity by advising how far 'back' that puts us ?

Depends. Stuff like "Friends" and "Star Trek: Voyager" are only a couple of months behind, mainly (I think) due to the differing seasons. Letterman is about 36 hours behind.
The original "Survivor" was about 72 hours behind, I think.

I can help with All My Children, Port Charles and One Life to Live...but not those...I do know that in Italy...where a friend of mine spent 3 years...their soaps were about 6-8 months behind
