I hate to admit that it's been a long time since I went to a concert :-

Could be the only concert I attend. The Rolling Stones in the RCA Dome (then known as the Hoosierdome) in 1986. :D

I saw Depeche Mode when they came to New Orleans back in '98 (I think that was the year). Anyway, what a GREAT concert.
Subject: Re: Last concert you attended?
I saw Def Leppard in Charlotte NC in September of 2000. The Unband opened for them, and what a god-awful band they were....
Subject: Re: Last concert you attended?
Sting about 2 years ago
The support act was some guy who sang the guitar and sort of warbled a lot. His last song went on so long everybody started laughing - he was that bad. It was very sad.
Sting was good though

1996 Super Slow Jam Oldies Concert at the San Jose Arena. Featured the Mary Jane Girls, The Floaters, Blue Magic, War, The Escorts, and some other people I can't remember.
Subject: Re: Last concert you attended?
It was Collin Raye in Ogden about 3 years ago. I went to every one of his concerts, then I had a baby and had to grow up....sad, huh? ;)
Subject: Re: Last concert you attended?
Godsmack last year. :) It was a great concert but not the same as when I was younger. I guess I am getting to old. :P ::)
And cheap! I refuse to pay over $30 for a concert. FTS!! >:(

Subject: Re: Last concert you attended?
I went to see Todd Rundgren with my (then) husband in '93 or '94. We got in for free, because a friend was working at a radio staion.
The last show I paid for was Alien Sex Fiend around 1992.
Subject: Re: Last concert you attended?
A local band called Glowbead. If you're talking about a mainstream band, the last would have been Warrant at a club.

two words: Ah Mazing!
Subject: Re: Last concert you attended?
Iron Maiden (for the fifth or maybe sixth time, but the first in over ten years).
They've aged remarkably well, but I did feel that something was missing: probably that they don't seem capable of writing a song less than ten minutes long any more, so although they probably played more old stuff than new, 90% of the concert was loooong songs...

Subject: Re: Last concert you attended?
The Almighty(as in the band of that name and not a Joan of Arc type vision!)Sadly they have not stood the test of time and they used to be one of my favorite bands.SIGH
Subject: Re: Last concert you attended?
I know it was last summer. But I can't remember the order of these two shows.
I'm pretty sure Journey was in June. It was a local rock radio station's '30th birthday' show with Bad Company, Billy Squire, Styx, and Journey. Really good show. Squire was hilarious. He's wearing either jogging shorts or boxers and , for all the whinning he does about the image he got from the video, he was dancing like in the "Rock Me Tonight" video on almost EVERY song. He sounded good, but I just couldn't watch without laughing.
So I guess the LAST concert would be Matchbox 20, with Train, in August or something. Another good show. Matchbox did a cover of "All Along The Watch Tower" that kicked ass. And Train impressed me. Not a big fan, but they put on a good show.

You know, I was a bit upset when Steve Perry left Journey, but the new vocalist, Steve Augeri, sounds just as wonderful. My dad bought the new "Arrival" CD and I had a hard time believing the new vocalist wasn't Steve Perry. Their voices sound almost identical.

I saw a video with Steve Augeri and I was thinking the same thing. I will have to buy the CD and see if I like the new sound.

Actually, the CD wasn't that great. I didn't care for the songs on the CD, but Steve A. can SING like there's no tomorrow. I think I'm just used to Journey's classic songs...it'll take me a while to adapt to their new song style.
Subject: Re: Last concert you attended?
Last concernt I saw was Tool. My friends were going so I decided to tag along. Big Mistake, It cost $46.00 for the cheap seats unbelievable. The last concert i Went to that I liked was Collective soul. a free concert last summer.
Subject: Re: Last concert you attended?
The Rolling Stones, 2 nights in a row at the Pasadena Rosebowl in 90-something. 93 or 94 maybe.
Subject: Re: Last concert you attended?
Kat, I truly admire your supreme music taste. Todd Rundgren is the best. Keep on listening to that stuff, for someone has uncovered it.

Thanks for the warning, Nat. I guess I will borrow it first then decide whether or not to buy. :)

Sad to say it was an N'SYnc concert that I took my little sister 2 last yr(it would have been fine if there weren't so many screaming 11 yr old girls)
but I'm going to see Garbage in June in Phillydelphia YAAAYY
Subject: Re: Last concert you attended?
The last concert I attended was Elton John (and his backing band) in early 2001. It was a great show! These days I don't get out much because of little ones and the fact that I don't have relatives nearby to help babysit. :-/
Subject: Re: Last concert you attended?
Robert Cray, a couple of months ago. I was supposed to have gone to see REO Speedwagon a couple of weekends ago, but was unable to make it. So my wife took a friend of hers instead. And I didn't even get a lousy t-shirt!! :'(

It seems we're in the same boat. Do you want to paddle, or shall I? ;D
I do occasionally take the little one to the free neighborhood festivals, and radio station shows. But I'm just about getting into the music when we need to go find a rest room or a snack stand. ::) (waiting till the rugrat acquires taste and the ability to apreciate good music...)

I guess it was Elton John, just him and his piano in 2000. But I'm planning on seeing REO Speedwagon in July!

I hear you, Kat. It is so hard sometimes to enjoy the things we like when we have to worry about little ones. I'm hoping not to have to travel with the kids again until my son is at least 5!

John Mayer in Austin on March 29, 2002. Before that...Depeche Mode in San Antonio last summer.
Subject: Best Concert you attended?
OK, here's a new topic. What's the best concert you attended out of how many concerts you been to and who?
Me? Kid Rock by far is the best show. I seen him four times. I also seen Incubus, that was good. 311 was good. No Doubt rocked. I missed the "Up In Smoke" tour, dammit! And the "Anger Management" tour, dammit! Those two probaly would have been close of Kid Rocks concerts or maybe even beat him.
Subject: Re: Last concert you attended?
Great Big Sea, with Carbon Leaf opening, at the Avalon, March 9 2002. If you are not into folk-pop-punk and not from Boston, the only part of that sentence that will make sense is the date. :)
Before that, I'd never been to an actual rock concert--folk festivals, yes, and worked as a stagehand for my high school whose talent shows were rife with crappy student bands, but never an actual rock concert. I think I'll have to go to more of them, though--had a good time at the GBS/CL show.
Subject: Re: Last concert you attended?
I think it was Charlie Daniels Band last summer (with .38 Special and some other band opening)...it was free.
Subject: Re: Last concert you attended?
The last real concert I saw was Aerosmith last October - ;D - Steven Tyler still makes me all silly (tee hee).
However, I did see a performance last night that was pretty spectacular. Has anyone here heard of Barrage? They're a troupe of young performers (Canadian too - WOOHOO) who use percussion/violins/fiddles and strings and are strongly influenced by Celtic music. They dance/sing/fiddle and it was a truly enjoyable experience!

Me too. Elton John. I think it was '98. And also "me too" as far as not getting out because of little ones.
Subject: Re: Last concert you attended?
The two "concerts" I've gone to weren't actually concerts, more of festival gigs, ya know, you don't have to pay for tickets. Like at NASCAR Speed Street. I guess you could call them concerts, though.
My first one was Weekend Excursion, a band from the state, performing at an annual festival. They did an excellent version of Lenny Kravitz's "Are You Gonna Go My Way". And my cousin was in one of their music videos, too, although the video isn't very popular (the band is not on VH1/MTV/MTV2, etc. It might be on MuchMusic).
I also saw "Herman's Hermits", very funny group. But they're not a group that I would go to a concert if I had the choice. :-/
Subject: Re: Last concert you attended?
I saw Aerosmith last summer, was supposed to see them again in December but Steven had a sore throat, not that I would have cared. On June 6 was supposed to see David Lee Roth and Sammy Haggar, but they rescheduled, and last but not least I'm going to go see Winger, Poison, and 2 other "hairbands" in July

Heh. I agree with you there. Still a great band though and in my opinion one of the most significant of the past 20 years.
I see live bands all the time, mostly local bands. The most recent full blown concert I saw was Judas Priest back late last year. Yeaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!

Hmm...the last concert I attended was Motley Crue's "Dr. Feelgood" tour at Hampton Colliseum in Virginia. I believe it was December 8th, 1989. Warrant opened.
