Subject: Where was everyone born?
(As a sidenote to "When was everyone born?")
I was born in Blue Springs, MO...moved to Lake Orion, MI...moved to Naperville, IL...then moved down to Mississippi.
Has anyone moved more than me? And, no, I'm not a "Military child."
Subject: Re: Where was everyone born?
Edgewood, MD, just outside of Aberdeen Proving Grounds. I am a military child, which is why I moved from Maryland to Texas to Hawaii in the first 2 years of my life, but after the divorce I spent most of my time in California. :)

Subject: Re: Where was everyone born?
Another Maryland-born member. I was born in Frederick, which was close to Fort Detrick. :) Being an Army brat, I moved to several cities in this order: Frankfurt, Germany; Fort Hood, TX; Fort Benjamin Harrison (now closed); Indianapolis; Fort Meade, MD; and back her in Indy.

Nope. I've stared at this for a full five minutes and can come up with no additional trite and sarcastic comment on it. Shot my wad on Saturday.

Subject: Re: Where was everyone born?
I announced my imminent arrival on a Thursday afternoon in Boston, MA. (I didn't actually show up untill early Saturday morning, something my mother always reminded me of when I was being "difficult".)
I've lived in four buildings, and crashed on the couches of two friends while I was between apartments. In the third building, I changed apartments five times.
So that makes either three moves or seven, depending on how you are doing the counting. All within city limits, so maybe you wouldn't count them at all?

Born in Zanesville, Ohio. (GO BUCKEYES!!)
For the most part, I stayed in the Zanesville are. We lived in Virginia Beach, Virginia for a short while in my toddler years. Lived in Newark, Ohio for a year (2nd grade), and moved to Mesa, Arizona in '81 (7th grade). Still here.
Moved almost every year until getting here. Without leaving the Zanesville area, I managed to go to a different school every grade. 2 for kindergarten. I never went to the same school for 2 or more consectutive years until high school. :(
Even then, after my freshman year, my dad wanted to move to San Diego. I vowed to stay behind and live with my aunt. I WAS NOT changing schools again!! >:(
In '90 I went to San Diego with a friend. I came back and cussed my dad out for not moving there! ;D

Born in St Andrew's Hospital in Brisbane 40 years ago, I know work in an office about 2 kilometres from that same Hospital.
Was going to move to Canberra once when Dad was still working but that fell through (luckily in retrospect - Canberra is the sort of place that closes down on Sundays - and it's the bloody CAPITAL !).
Have moved in and around Brisbane during that time so that's pretty exciting hey........no I guess not.

Subject: Re: Where was everyone born?
I was born in Ann Arbor, MI as my parents were grad students/resident advisors at the U. (I lived my first 3 months in a men's college dorm. There exist a number of photos of me being gingerly cradled by hungover undergrads in sideburns and hockey jerseys. Explains a lot no doubt. Go Blue!!) '74-'77 in New Brunswick, NJ (Dad was lecturing at Rutgers). 1977-79 in West Roxbury, MA. 1979-present in Brookline, MA, except for 4 years in a college dorm in Waltham (about 20 minutes out of Boston) and 1 year in Watertown (just outside Harvard Square as the shop girl trudges).
As you can see, I've never (at least not when I was old enough to remember) lived outside the metro Boston area. This explains why I've also never learned to drive.

Yes, indeed! Zanesville, Ohio, home of the Y-Bridge. The only bridge where you can go to the center of the bridge and make a right. Or left. It's the spot where the Licking River joins the Muskingum River, on the way to the mighty Ohio River.

We have a Y-bridge in Akron too. Except you cannot make a right or a left in the middle. It crosses the Little Cuyahoga gorge and the right leg feeds off of Broadway, a one way street running north and the left leg feeds into High St., a one way street running south. They merge to become north Main St. on the other side of the gorge. In order to build the Y-bridge they only had to tear down an 80 year old viaduct, chop up the two main streets of old downtown, and destroy the livlihood of about 50 businesses. Progress, you see. >:(
