This will be the 300th post on this messageboard. And Tony Dungy is the next Colts' head coach. That's all! :D

I almost forgot. The egocentric phone company didn't come to hook up my line, so I'm stuck in the library doing posts on this thread. They rescheduled for Friday afternoon. So my computer is still on hiatus until then >:(.

Don't they just get on your nerves sometimes? :( They say they will be there between 9am and 2pm, causing you to take almost a whole day off from work, then they fail to show up. Sometimes they offer evening and Saturday hours, but they make you wait almost two months for that. >:(
(Can you tell I've been there and done that? ;) )
and congrats for 300!

But that isn't the bad part. I called the SBC Ameritech operator at around 3:30PM (EST). She informed me that I would be next in the queue and would be the last customer of the day. I waited until 5:00PM, when the 8 hour window ended. I called another operator, who tried to sell me DSL service and said I didn't need a phone jack, which I had already ordered. (They tried to make DSL sound cheaper, but a reliable source told me it was a ripoff.) Then the "salesperson" told me there was a technician at my house at 4:15PM, but nobody answered. This is impossible since three adults, including myself, were home at the time. Anyway, this person transferred to Customer Service, whose representative told me the same thing, and added, "Well, the computer says..." If something like this happens again, I'm giving up all allegiences to Ameritech and to try another, more reputable company. (Sorry for the >:()

Congrats!
And I've never understood why people, be it phone co., cable, whatever..why they just can't show up when they say they're gonna? Being late is SUCH a pet peeve of mine.....c'mon people...it's the age of technology...we shouldn't be late EVER!
Okay that's my rant for the day :)

Update on the hook-up. I did set up my computer desk and my sister helped install the PC to test the DVD function. But I still don't have the phone hooked up due to the disorganized installation. They still claim they were at my dad's house and nobody was home. And I used 4 more hours of leave to wait for them. They also claimed that the crew was outside installing the line but couldn't finish because I am always "low priority" on their list (which means they started approx. 1 minute before quitting time).Turns out my line was assigned to my dad's name instead of mine, hence the confusion. They promise to finish the job next Saturday. Meanwhile, I am getting messages that I need the Internet to do most of the activities I wanted to do. (Nothing illegal). To be continued. ???

My brother still gets phone calls for our dad, who passed away 22 years ago. They have the same name. Stupidity appears to be somewhat universal.

We are still getting mail addressed to my late mother. Sometimes it's not even worth getting across to these morons. :(
