Can't believe you missed this one Philip!

Apparently, to get out of work, a man submitted an obit to a paper announcing his mother's death.  When concerned friends and co-workers called the family home to extend condolences they were surprised to hear dear old mum answer the phone

;D

Terrible!

I rarely called in sick when I wasn't but if I just wanted a day off I would never lie about someone dying, I would say I was sick or had car trouble then I would worry that I jinxed myself and would actually have car trouble or get sick the next day.  ;D

I just can't imagine actually writing an obit for my mom  and paying to put it in the paper forget getting fired my mom would kill e and have them recycle the obit with my name in place of hers.  ;D

That's really sick.  Writing your mom's obituary is one of the most painful things a person can do.  How can he fake it?  Ugh.

He will be thinking back to this when the moment comes where he has to do it for real.

Todd has caught many employees making up stuff to get out of work even saying their grandmother had died.  On that occasion, Todd called the girl's mother to offer his condolences only to find out the grandmother was very much alive. The girl got into major trouble from her parents and had to apologize to her managers...I can't remember if she lost her job over it.

Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated!

Yes...I can see how that phone call went ;D

I'm not dead.
'Ere, she says she's not dead.
Yes she is.
I'm not.
He isn't.
Well, she will be soon, she's very ill.
I'm getting better.
No you're not, you'll be stone dead in a moment.
