While a limited amount of 3D pornography that can be viewed through red and blue lensed glasses has been available online for a few years, this will be the first time adult movies can be watched in 3D on TV.
Viewers will have access to over 60 exclusive 3D high definition films on French free station Channel 171.
While there are many sceptics when it comes to the use of 3D in feature films it seems broadly accepted that 3D is the way forward in the adult entertainment industry.
Film director Woody Allen spoke about the use of 3D at the last Cannes Film Festival.
He said: ‘I like 3D movies because three-dimensional women look a lot better. I don't see it in my movies, but for Playboy it will be perfect.’
Marc Dorcel first detailed his foray into 3D porn at MipTV earlier this year. The content has been created in partnership with French firm 3DLized.
There are no plans for a UK service as yet.
