Subject: Misdemeanor Vs Felony

Is it just me, or is this story just nuts. A woman has her boyfriend on the roof of her car, driving for over a mile, while he's punching her thru the window as she tries to escape from his abuse, and SHE is the one charged with a felony, while he skates with a misdemeanor.  :o

What's next? Cops beating people up and charging them for bruising their knuckles?  http://www.inthe00s.com/smile/08/punch.gif

Doesn't make any sense to me why they were charged like that. It seems to me her charge may be from hitting her boyfriend with the car, but I'm fairly sure she wouldn't have hit other cars or even been driving to get away if her boyfriend wasn't beating the hell out of her.

Even a middling lawyer will be able to sort this one out.  Wouldn't be surprised if the boyfriend had ties to the cops.

Listen, Billy, you gotta take it easy on the sauce, only so many times we can cover for ya.  Now, look we'll go straighten out the little woman and when you're on your way home, buy her something real nice like some roses and Mad About You on DVD, OK?

Judge (Billy's cousin):  Four-week anger management course, suspended.  And you...why do you buy Billy light beer when you know he don't like it?
:D

Anyway, a similar story happened over hear this week.  A 21-year-old woman struck a pedestrian in broad daylight.  Did she stop and call for help on her cell phone?  No.  She went peeling and squealing around several blocks in Springfield while the guy clung desperately to the hood.  Fortunately, he suffered only a broken leg.  The gal's up on several charges.  Panic and adult beverages make good judgment not!
