Subject: 1990s All Rock Music Thread

Rock, Grunge, Metal, Alternative, etc.
My favourite rock band of the 90s, and maybe even all time are called Manic Street Preachers, and they are still performing to this day! In 1992, they released their debut album Generation Terrorists, which sent 6 singles into the UK Top 40, the last of which was called Little Baby Nothing. Featuring porn star Traci Lords on guest vocals, it peaked at UK #29 and is just a fantastic song!

Here is the 1993 hit Two Princes by Spin Doctors. This one often shows up in one hit wonder lists, despite it not being their only chart single, but IMO, it was their best and peaked at #7 in the US, #3 in the UK and #2 in Canada. I think this song still holds up today!

I was never a BIG fan of the British band Oasis, but this song changed my opinion. Here in Canada, Oasis were so popular that our music video channel called MuchMusic counted down to the premiere of the music video for their 1997 single D'You Know What I Mean? and I just happened to be watching when it premiered and I was just blown away how good this song was and I have been a fan of it ever since! It went on to peak at #1 in the UK and #10 in Canada, and while it did not enter the US Hot 100, it did peak at #36 in the US Mainstream Rock chart

But they were clearly NOT a one hit wonder. They had two other noteworthy hits: "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong" and "Jimmy Olsen's Blues" (the latter of which repeatedly namedrops the title of the album that it's on, Pocket Full Of Kryptonite). In fact, according to their discography, a few other tracks of theirs were moderate hits on various charts.

Gin Blossoms had a handful of noteworthy hits during the 1990s. Here's one that was popular during the summer months of 1994 - "Until I Fall Away":

I like to listen to it while pedaling on the stationary bike; it has a fast tempo that keeps me going.

One of my favorite if not my favorite decades when it comes to rock and general mainstream music. Nirvana, Green Day, The Smashing Pumpkins, and Soundgarden. I could go on and on about it.

One of my favorite albums right here, this band came out swinging with their debut album and one of my favorite bands from the late 90s. I spent a lot of August of last year having this album on repeat and sipping on Clearly Canadians all day (You can still find them in my area).

Here is one from 1993 titled It Falls Apart by a band called Odds. This was always a fun one when it came on the radio!

From 1996, here is a song called Leave it Alone by a band called Moist. The band's lead singer David Usher went to the same high school as I did (different years of course as he is 11 years older than I) and I've always enjoyed this one!
