Subject: My dresses from the 1990s ♡♡♡
Written By: violet_shy on 12/16/20 at 5:16 pm
Ok...so, going through some old things in storage I found two of my dresses from the 1990s. Both are girls fashion so anyone into girls fashion from the 90s is more than welcome to comment!
Ok. The first dress is from 1990, and I wore it to 5th grade picture day at school. You can all kinda see where girls dresses in fashion were going. It looks really dated and old.

The second dress is from 1995. And I also wore it to a school picture day, it was actually high school 10th grade. I will always love this dress!

And lastly, here I am in 1995 15 years old wearing a dress similar to the one above. I loved those sundresses back in the day!

They are in good condition. They aren't torn or linty. And the colors are not faded. So yeah. Love my dresses! Just wanted to share them with anyone who likes 90s fashion.

Good to know! O0
I still have a few clothing items that I had in the second half of the 1990s, namely a few sweatshirts. They are still holding up after more than 20 years!

Depends on how you keep them. I keep mine in boxes with plastic lids.

I actually don't store any of my clothes that way. I hang up my clothes in the closet and they stay just fine.
It also depends on how you launder them. If the tag says "Machine wash cold/tumble dry low", then I adhere to that.

Yes. True. And also, if you hang old clothing make sure the have plastic covering so they won't fade.

If I wanted to give away some clothes I'd store them in a box and give to donation.

There are some bins in my neighborhood where I can just toss old clothes and give them to charity.

This is the dress my mother (RIP) wore to my nephew's baptism in May 1995. I posted the video of that day in another thread. My sister's then boyfriend (age 23 in 1995) says "You look 13 again" and my father (age 41 then) says "that's what I told her, this is the teenage look."
Am curious, was this sort of the look for teenage girls back in 1995?

Dresses like that were everywhere in department stores and malls. Lots of floral sundresses that I wore on special occasions. The photo I posted of myself was the day of my younger sister's 5th grade graduation. So yeah, I didn't wear the dresses all of the time only on special days.

Those style of dresses look beautiful on both Jess and your mother (may she RIP).
I noticed it was making a sort of mini-comeback in the mid-2010s but I guess it never truly caught on.

Oh yes...I see bins like that in various parking lots, including those for stores. "Donate here" or something like that.
