Subject: Earthworm Jim

What are your thoughts on this Sonic the Hedgehog knock-off from the mid 90s? Did you play the games? Watch the cartoon? Own the action figures and Taco Bell kids meal toys? Earthworm Jim was never on the level of Super Mario Brothers or Sonic the Hedgehog. It’s been forever since I have heard anything about Earthworm Jim. Are there any 90s kids on here that miss C-grade Earthworm Jim?

I remember that cartoon. Around its heyday I went with my parents to a cheap VHS sale outside of the local video rental place and they bought one of the volumes for me. It was so cheesy and crazy that, looking back, it seems more like a parody of a superhero cartoon series. ::)

The toys for Earthworm Jim were on sale at Kay Bee Toys in the late 90s. I didn’t know of the origin story of Earthworm Jim, but I think the toys were by Playmates (same people who made TMNT action figures in the late 80s).
