Both songs sound like they are proto late 90s sound but they have a hint of New Jack Swing in the production. Plus, 1995 was still dominated by R&B, eurodance, hip hop, and alternative rock.

Jon B's pretty girl ALWAYS struck me as more of a late 90s song than a mid 90s one. So you actually could say that was one of the signs. :o
