So they're essentially rebooting all of the 90s Renaissance films at this point ;D.
It also disproves the point that nostalgia cycles happen every 20 years.
They usually happen in 22-25 year cycles:
*That 70's Show is set in 1976 and 1977, yet the show premiered in August 1998.
*There was the original Star Wars trilogy, which had movies released from 1977 to 1983. Another trilogy had movies coming out between 1999 and 2005.
*The third Spongebob movie is scheduled to be released on the 21st anniversary of the show's official premiere (July 17, 2020).
*The Beauty and the Beast had a reboot come out in 2017. The original movie came out in 1991.
*Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling came out this year. The original show ran from 1993 to 1996.
*There is not only a Rugrats movie scheduled for 2020, but also a new TV series with episodes. The series premiered in 1991 and The Rugrats Movie came out in 1998.
*There is another Mulan movie scheduled to be released in 2020.
