It's probably easier to get on America's Got Talent. The Voice is very strict on who they choose for their show.
I always liked Black Velvet. It was a #1 hit in the US during March of 1990, but in Canada, it peaked at #10 during September of 1989. Before I learned this, I used to get so confused when I'd always see it show up on 90s compilation CDs lol

This I was actually aware of (thus making it a decade cusp song). It was popular in the artist's native country before it achieved success in the US. This kinda thing happens a lot with certain songs; the U.S. will get them as hand-me-downs.
