Personally, I (mostly) hate this fashion trend and I prefer the fashion of the early-mid '90s all day over the fashion of the late '90s.
What are your thoughts?

Meh. I also prefer the early-mid 90's fashion tbh.

Hella dated and corny but I love that era (as you probably can tell). I bet it's coming back in the '2020s.

It most likely won't and I hope not anyway.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

That's not late '90s fashion, no one actually dressed like that lol.

True, it's just I can't really see it coming back IMO. If it does though it'll probably mix in with some brand new fashion trends.

It would look better updated. But like Slowpoke implied, mostly celebrities wore the ridiculous outfits you see above.

Trendy people and many celebrities wore it.
I just want your opinion of it, not whether or not most people were wearing it. It was a fashion trend in the late '90s.
If not...then fight me! http://www.thecoli.com/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/birdman2.png

This is true but a lot of regular people were infatuated by those clothes.

I agree that it would look better updated. It'd be quite unique if it was a perfect mixture of late 90's fashion with a mix of brand new fashion trends of the 2020's.

Naw, no trendy people wearing that. It's celebrities wearing that for their performances. It's meant to look over the top.
Late '90s fashion was like a more streamlined version of what was popular in the mid-'90s while also setting up the trends that would be popular in the 2000s.

If you mean it was a celebrity trend, then yeah it was. As a celebrity trend it's better than what they were wearing on MTV in the 1980s/early 1990s, but I didn't like it as much as the mid-1990s.

Stop derailing this thread over stuff I already now and weren't being discussed.
Also:

Bruh I'm responding to this part of your OP and you said "fight me" which sounded like an invitation to a debate to me, so maybe you shouldn't derail your own thread.

And no one "infatuated with it" any more than dudes were infatuated with guys wearing eyeliner and black skin tight skinny jeans and borderline cross dressing in 2003.

I was being sarcastic. I even put a smiley of Birdman, which should have made it obvious. Also, you're the master of sarcasm...I'm surprised you didn't detect it :P.

That is true.
Also, the glossiness wasn't just pertaining to fashion trends. In the late '90s:
*Rap music became glossy
*Movies became more futuristic and glossy
*Iconic '90s TV shows were ending and being replaced with glossier shows.
*Pop music became glossy
*R&B music became glossy
It wasn't just a (celebrity) fashion trend ;D.

^^^ All of that is true. I never knew how to describe that trend but I guess I'll start calling it "glossy" ;D

LOL.
In rap, it's called the "Shiny Suit Era". The deaths of Tupac and Biggie lead to the rise of Puffy and Mase.

Love and miss it all. I cannot stand the fashion trends of the 2010s, both on guys and gals. Even though good looks still exist, most of it is dull and wishy-washy, making no kind of bold, proud statement. Late '90s fashion just resonates with me personally so much, to the point that I actually often dress like I tried out for the Spice Girls.

My toddler years, one thing that was trendy at that time was bennie babies. I remember seeing them everywhere from like 99-02 then made a short comeback in the late 00s as a happy meal toy at Mcdonalds.
