Arguably my favorite video game year. Donkey Kong Country, Final Fantasy VI, Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles are legitimately still some of my favorite games of all time.
This was also the year that I started becoming considerably more interested as a gamer. I started buying video game magazines, my parents got me a Sega Genesis for my birthday to go with my SNES, I used to go over to my neighbor's because he was the only kid on the block that had Donkey Kong Country, and I started to see more and more hype for upcoming 3D consoles like the PlayStation and Ultra 64 as it was called.

I was more of a Sega kid but I owned an SNES too, BarneySplat was a DOS game, it was a door game for BBSes. My neighbor and I always played it. Barney meets Beavis and Butt-Head: classic!
