Subject: Biggest Guilty Pleasure Songs from the 90s?
Written By: #Infinity on 01/09/16 at 7:41 pm
The 90s were quite the decade for these! Some popular songs during this period were incredibly ridiculous, yet they were so addictive that you couldn't help but play them on repeat!
This is my personal top 6:

And, finally, a song, which, after hearing it, your life will probably never be the same again:

There was so much cheese in the 90's, my decade... Lol But here are a few songs I would normally be embarrassed to admit that I like.
The Macarena- I imagine most people will have this on their list. Hey I had a vhs tape with alternatives to the dance, similar ones. One was called Lawnmower something. Haha.
Rico Suave- This guy is bad, not in a good way. But the way he says the title in the chorus is too cool to not be added to this.
Baby Got Back- Yes I know all the lyrics by heart but its catchy.
Pump Up The Jam- Another catchy tune. "I want a place to stay. Get your booty on the floor tonight. Make my day."
The Bad Touch- A dirty song but with funny lines.

Hammer- 2 Legit 2 Quit (sure, he was starting his popularity decline after his brief break at the top, but in away it was last hurrah for Golden Age/Old School hip hop before Dr. Dre changed it all in '92.
Madonna- This Used to Be My Playground (1992 was the peak of my childhood, so it nostalgically represents that period of my life, though its a bit less guilty despite not getting much airplay outside of fans)
Elton John- Can You Feel the Love Tonight (The ultimate artist version from the Disney Renaissance's peak film, even if totally sappy)

While his popularity was certainly in decline, I think Hammer was still a pretty big deal pop culturally in 1991. As an (at the time very young) Atlanta Falcons fan, I remember that Deion Sanders and the '91 Falcons called themselves the "2 Legit 2 Quit" Falcons due to the fact that Hammer hung out on the sidelines at the team's games during their playoff run that season. He was definitely a has been by the end of '92, though.
At any rate, I have way too many "guilty pleasures" from the '90s to possibly list in one post, so I'll just put the one that I'm most ashamed of admitting that I have on my iPod:

I absolutely love this song by Winger. Beavis and Butthead would make so much fun of me.

I checked my iPod to see the one that would fit most, and this is the one I'd be most embarrassed to admit I had. I grew up with stuff that sounded like this. ;D

No worries, I also enjoy What Is Love, this would be #2 out of the ones I have on my iPod. ;D

Yes, this song is cheesy as hell, but damn it makes me nostalgic for my middle school days. 8)
