Subject: Does anyone think these two songs sound similar?

Do You Wanna Get Funky - C+C Music Factory (Billboard Hot 100 Peak: #40)

Say You'll Be There - Spice Girls (Billboard Hot 100 Peak: #3)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ro0FW9Qt-4

The first one is from 1994, the second one is from 1997. I noticed a comment that said on the Spice Girls one "This sounds similar to Do You Wanna Get Funky". I thought it was weird, so then I looked up the C+C one, watched it, and I realized he was right! Holy smokes, they do sound similar! It's the beat and the tempo that makes them similar! They must have used similar technology or the same drum machine!

Anybody here knowledgeable about music know what drum machine they're using? Anyone know anybody that does? I wanna know, because I'm getting really interested in creating beats myself. It's really fun to make cool beats with free drum machine apps on my iPhone, I'm thinking of buying an actual one. But please, anybody know?

"Do You Wanna Get Funky" by C+C Music Factory: 104 BPM

"Say You'll Be There" by Spice Girls: 107 BPM

(P.S. - In 1994, did anybody actually wear those clothes in real life that are shown in the "Do You Wanna Get Funky" music video?)

Sorry Fox, I don't hear the similarities.

Here We Go, Let's Rock and Roll by C&C Music Factory was as much better song, IMO.

No comment on Spice Girls. Their music was superficial. I'm still trying to forget the late 90s ever happened.

No, I actually think "Gonna Make You Sweat" is better. "Here We Go, Let's Rock and Roll" is just "Sweat" with different lyrics. "Do You Wanna Get Funky" is their best song in my opinion.

If you think Spice Girls were superficial, then I could say the early '90s were just as superficial, if not more so than the late '90s. The early '90s had zero emotional songs. There was nothing that moved me. The late '90s had plenty of meaningful songs.

And you didn't answer my question. I asked if anyone thought these two songs sounded similar. You just typed in an opinion about the songs. I didn't ask for that. If you have nothing relevant to say about the topic at hand then don't say anything at all. I refuse to let this thread die.
