Subject: So I saw a program that was airing on National Geographic...

Written By: Visor765 on 07/07/14 at 10:30 pm

It was called "The 90s: The Last Great Decade". I didn't watch it, but when I saw it I was baffled. That is a stupid name for a title and people are gonna feel so foolish once the 90s nostalgia is over. You know nostalgia is taken too far when they market an opinion as if it was a fact. When no, it is not true. You just like the 90s too much and are unsatisfied with the present because you wasted too much time having fun that you didn't care at all about making your future life better.

Now I quite like the 90s, but this is just ridiculous. I think this is gonna mark a turning point where sometime in the near future (I predict it will be next year), we will start to get sick of the 90s and we will slowly lose our fondness for it and then it will be replaced by year 2000 nostalgia (2018 maybe?). As a matter of fact, I think 2014 might be the year 90s nostalgia will be at it's peak... A.K.A right now.

They have to name it something to catch attention. I don't know what they talked about in the program, but it being the last "great" decade is a matter of opinion. The events of he 90's were no more worthy of gushing over than the events of other decades.

I do think it was/is overhyped, the program I mean. I love the 90s though.

Why would the 90's be the "last great decade"? ???

Some people might think that before the internet really took over people's lives it was the last of the times without that, and better. The rest I don't know.

It was the last decade where we were in perpetual war. Nothing is great about that.

Actually, pop culturally it was the last great decade in my eyes.  8)

Also, the US economy was at its peak from 1995 to 2000!

Not to mention that they can't predict the future. This will be laughed at in the 2020s or even the late 2010s if things turn around soon.
