Subject: Oasis

What do you guys think of this band?
Alot of people say they copied the Beatles, and while they were definitely influenced by them, they had a pretty cool sound and were popular throughout the 90s.
Granted, I heard Noel and Liam are complete assholes and treat their fans like sheesh. That is hard hurdle to overcome if you really like this band
My favorite songs are
-Wonderwall
-Don't look back in Anger(Beatles influence here)
-Supersonic
-Don't go away.

I like their music, I know they're jerks to their fans, but there's lots of bands like that. It sucks that some of the worst people make the best music.

Oasis more than copied The Beatles, they covered "I am a Walrus" in 1994, as a B-side of their single "Cigarettes & Alcohol".

Oasis were one of the most popular rock bands of the 90s. That being said, it is quite shocking when you see just how little chart action they had in America. The music channel VH1 defines a one hit wonder as an artist who charts only one song into the Billboard Top 40. Do you consider Oasis to be a one hit wonder in the US? Yeah, me neither!
My favourite has always been D'You Know What I Mean?

Not wishing to be 'sniffy', but (rather like the other Mancunian 'legends', The Smiths) they meant nothing to me...
If a gun was placed up my nostril (quite feasible!), I'll say 'Don't Look Back In Anger', but that's about it...

I like them. Yea didn't care for their latent Beatles worship, but their was a sort of 60's nostalgia when Oasis was coming up.
They were popular in America, but never reached a really high standing.
Loved the song "Live Forever"

Whatever
Roll With It
My Top 2 from Oasis. I bought their first 2 albums - not really my genre but they crossed over well and they were hard to escape.
Love the strings at the end on this one...

Liam and Noel were jerks towards each other. They were jerks so much so that they couldn't even be in the same room together to do interviews because they were always fighting.

Take a look at this bullsh!t that happened in Vancouver almost 18 years ago this month after someone threw a shoe on stage.

Hey, at least if they are mean to me or would be if I met them, at least I can tell myself it wasn't personal, they're mean to everybody! :o

I think it's mandatory every three months. Like they were 90's staple.

There's a lot of surprising things about that chart, particularly for me that "Don't Look Back in Anger" only peaked at #55 in the United States. It feels like I remember hearing that song all over the place in 1996 and '97. It's also odd to me that "Champagne Supernova" didn't chart at all in the US (or apparently the UK for that matter either). I know it's over seven minutes long, but I remember that the radio cut was closer to five minutes, and it was also mega popular on rock radio, at least around here.

Gladly you do not heard much of Oasis these days.
