Does anyone here remember the large oval eyeglasses of the mid 1990s? They were very different from Lennon/Harry Potter eyeglasses, which are smaller and rounder. They were apparently worn by "intellectuals, preps, geeks, and hippies" in that era--They were a hugely popular style from the early-late 90s but seem to have experienced their peak in popularity in the mid 90s. A perfect example of the style of glasses I mean is Jerry Garcia's glasses later in life.

Did anyone here wear these kind of frames in the '90s? Thoughts on them?

It seemed more like a retro 70s thing with a 90s twist than anything.

I don't know what other people were wearing but in 1994, I got my first pair of eyeglasses that looked EXACTLY like this:

YES, I had the red plastic frames! :o Perish the thought now. I won't be seen outside my house in my glasses--with small silver frames now.

Those actually look cute...I have a fondness for the 90s frames. The ones above make a girl appear nerdy but in a cute way, if I was single anyway.

My sister had a dorky pair of oval shaped glasses in the 90's. I didn't get glasses until 6th grade.
