Remember her? Did you like her in the 90s? Hate her? Indifferent? Other?
I remember she was EVERYWHERE on the radio from about 1990 to 1998. And I remember her being one of the best selling artist of the 90s.

yes me too... mostly for her late 1990s hits but not much else as I was too young, she has been quite these days

She still has a fairly active fan community online and off and has basically "lasted", much like Madonna who is in the unique position of being old enough for oldies and yet still having a new hit on Top 40 radio. But I remember her well in her heyday even though I wasn't really a fan of her, with lots of radio-friendly songs. Her progression embodies the '90s well: a "suburban shopping mall" feel giving way to the "urban gentrification" feel later in that decade. But when I first hear her on the oldies station (now that the 20-year mark has passed with her first couple albums), then I know I'll start to feel like I'm not that young anymore. She is much more active than Whitney Houston, who only put out an album every several years whereas Mariah keeps releasing a new album every 18 months or so.

I liked her earlier music, my favorite song was Fantasy.
i liked her earlier stuff too which is interesting because she was criticized (early on) that she didn't utilize her voice properly. i thought she utilized her voice more then compared to how she utilizes it now... she has an awesome voice. i really liked vision of love.

I love Mariah, she's one of my favorite kinds of music (R&B pop). Her '90s hits were the best (Vision of Love, Dreamlover, Fantasy, Always Be My Baby, Honey). Emancipation of Mimi was also a great album in 2005, after that unfortunately it mostly all sucks though. ::)

I'm not a hardcore Mariah fan, but I like her pre-2002 stuff.
Emancipation was okay, but not my taste. Although I have to say I LOVVE 'We Belong Together'!

That's cool yeah I loved that too, there's a topic I posted way back in 2005 raving about the song even. ;D I liked "Don't Forget about Us" too though it was kinda like We Belong Together part 2 LOL.
