Yeah, but it was 1992.  Internet access wasn't widely-available, your local BBS probably didn't do 14.4, let alone 56kbps, and unless your computer cost $3000 for a 486-66, after you spent the half-hour to download it, it took at least 5-6 seconds for a DOS-based viewer to render an 800x600 JPEG.

But it may have saved me fifty bucks, so it had that goin' for it.

It wasn't that bad, as in hardcore porn. You'd have probably seen worse if you stole your dad's secret stash of Hustler or whatever grade B porn mags. Ibought it for my friend brand new. My friend is hay and he showed me the naked guy pics (mind you, I was 23then so not really that shocking to me.) It was supposed to be artsy-fartsy soft core highbrow erotica. I vaguely remember Madonna with her bare butt hitchhiking in a corset. Big whoop. Lol  My gay friend really liked it, so I  guess I should have taken a better look at it then.  :P

Well she did try from her video "Justify my love" and her tour where the backlash from thing she did such as whilest in Puerto Rico, she rubbed the Puerto Rican flag on her crotch, which caused alot of controversey.  She was advised to tone down at least somewhat for her career's sake.

You've gotta keep in mind what was happening in the world around that time too.  Clinton elected, Bush 1 assination attempt, Somalia war, Genocide in Africa, Iraq war, so more important things were being discussed rather then what Madonna was doing or not doing.  She then started having kids and discovered Kabahla, so that would also account for her not being nearly as controversial as before.

However, her Erotica album during 1992, was considered a disappointment. It sold only half of her previous studio album, Like A Prayer. Her singles started chart a little lower after 1992 also.
