Maybe it was just where I live (NYC) but I seem to have memories of there being a lot more graffiti around the mid 90s (94-96) than there is now. I know Graffiti has been around for a LONG time but I wonder if in general it became really popular around the mid 90s?
My opinion is a little skewed I guess you could say since I spent 1990 (birth) to Jan 1997 in NYC but from 1997 to 2002 I lived in NJ--but by the time I had come back to NYC just five years later there was a lot less Graffiti.
