Subject: Eras in the 90s
Written By: Eli on 08/21/10 at 1:20 pm
Did any of you realize that the 90s had like three different eras from a cultural and musical standpoint?
The early 90s- Grunge era, I like to also call it the slacker era because it was very laid back. Even though grunge was popular so was new wave. People just seemed very chill in that time period. Musically speaking, I would use Kurt Cobain as an example. But a better example for the teenage and twentysomethings of that era would be Pauly Shore (style of dress, slang, attitude).
Mid 90s- Transitional era, start of the decline of grunge, and RnB was actually the hot thing at the time, maybe alternative rock as well. Ace of Base would be a great example, so would Boys 2 Men. Life was still simple in terms of atmosphere.
Late 90s- Pop and hip hop era, precursor to today's culture. People became slaves to money, and corporations turned musicians into gimmicks. things were kind edgy, in terms of like crash and reality tv.

Your era depends on how well you can pitch
