Question--for all those who were grown up or teenagers in the early-mid 90s, how big was the song "November Rain" by Guns N' Roses? Was it popular among couples, or teenage couples back then?
Also what are some other great 90s love songs?

Power ballad, then. Look, it's a song that's slower than 120bpm. Everyone there to dance got off the floor and made room for the people who were there to make out. I'm with the original poster - it's as close to a love song as it needs to be.

"Truly Madly Deeply" was a good love song. GF liked it, so it was one of my first Napster downloads...

November Rain is kind of a love song, a really depressing one at that.

Dude,
I remember when I was 15, I was totally into a makeout session with my girlfriend at the time. November Rain came on the radio and I still remember it to this day. EVERY time I hear that song I am instantly transported back to 1993. THat song wasn't HUGE back then, but yet it was used EVERYwhere to set the mood at high school house parties...specifically when things were getting wild and you wanted to bring the level down and put a more somber mood on things.

I remember the day the judge barred their sale to Bertelsmann in 2002:

Hats off to whatever Napster employee did that, almost certainly with management's tacit blessing. Dot-com culture was great while it lasted.
All these websites will be lost in time, like tears in the (November) rain.
