Godzilla, the movie, what was your take on it? I though that it was not that bad.

It was the typical big budget, special effects summer blockbuster that was a massive hit. It wasn't a bad movie, but not really one you'd want to own or watch all the time.

A late 90's action classic in the vein of Armageddon, Mask of Zorro or Deep Impact

I remember hating the movie, along with Armageddon. Must have been the dumb jokes they put out, and the fact you never really see Godzilla.
The Soundtrack was good. I did like Puff Daddy w/ Jimmy Page's "Come With Me" and Wallflowers cover of "Heroes."

I preferred the old original Japanese Godzilla....at least it gave some laughs!

I've seen about 10 minutes of it, but I do remember --and IMDB confirms it-- that it was released in May 1998,
but they started running commercials on television for it back in Dec 1997 or Jan 1998 ??
