Subject: Slacker chic

Is it just me, or were slackers considered cool, during the 90's?
For example:
Biodome
Encino Man
Wayne's World
Son In Law
For some reason, even though they sat on their butts, had no real jobs, made minimal income, and occasionally smoked pot, they still got the girl, especially it their boyfriend (or guy who was interested in them) , had a job, made lots of cash, had a fancy home, a future, a car, and drive and ambition?

Then of course, there was the kid who was too lazy to do real work at school but used his brain to come up with wacky schemes to get out of working: Zack from Saved by the Bell and Parker Lewis.

In the Simpsons during the 90's, they made a new character in Itchy and Strachy called Poochie. He was a slacker alright, but he was also hip-hoping, Surf Boarding, Kung Fuing, and almost every other -ing.
