Subject: Cheesy 3D Polygon graphics in video games
Written By: yelimsexa on 12/03/09 at 11:21 am
Ever notice how most of the early 3D games of the '90s have a "cheesy AI" feel to them compared to games in more recent years? While at the time it really seemed cool and much improved compared to 2D games, but nowadays it seems very kitchsy. The 128-bit era in the early 00s still had some traces of this kitch, but by the time you hit the PS3/Wii/XBOX 360 era, it's all gone. Think Doom/Doom 2 as a particular example of this.

Not so sure about the Wii. Some of the games for it, the graphics remind me of those late 90s 3D games. Good graphics, but on some of the games, it's not as good as what can be done with today's technology. For example, the characters in the Wii Sports games are very poorly done and look like old school Nintendo, not next generation Nintendo. Very disappointing which is one of the reasons why I don't like and will never own a Wii.
Nintendo seems to stick with the games aimed more towards kids with the cartoon styled graphics, but if you want the realism, get a PS3 or an XBox 360
