She shot to fame with her husky vocals, had hit after hit - then went bankrupt and suffered from lacklustre comebacks.
However she was one of my fave artists from the 90s and her "Secrets" album in 1996 is one of my all-time favourites.

BTW even though "Breathe Again" is good, does anyone think it's kinda overrated? That's the only song of hers the radio plays anymore, at least in my area.

Yeah she couldn;t make it in the 2000's like she did in the 90's expect for a couple hits in 2000.
I remember in the video for "He wasn;t Man Enough" Toni had Robin Givens in the He Wasn;t Man Enough music video with her.
I remember in my 8th grade prom they had one of Toni's songs playing.

Despite my earlier statement on "Un-break My Heart", I did buy it on cd single and I did love the dance remixes.
BTW even though "Breathe Again" is good, does anyone think it's kinda overrated? That's the only song of hers the radio plays anymore, at least in my area.
I see what you mean, as I kinda feel that way too when I voted - but I think it was just overplay. At the time it was a rather unique sounding ballad and very fresh.

The Soul-Hex one's not bad. The Fitch Brothers did a remix from the acapella on X-Mix and I personally like that one more than the Soul-Hex. It's more anthem-like.

I don't think it's overrated. :) Don't hear it that much here.
