Subject: Your favorite full albums of the '90s?
Written By: Marty McFly on 04/12/09 at 4:17 pm
Even with all the '90s songs I love, most of them are singles (there actually were alot of one hit wonders)....so I just wondered what everyone's favorite full albums are. Here's some of mine:
Metallica - Black album
Collective Soul self titled '95
U2 - Achtung Baby
Paula Abdul- Spellbound
Genesis- We Can't Dance
Green Day- Dookie
Wallflowers- Bringing Down the Horse
Nirvana - Nevermind
Alanis- Jagged Little Pill
Bryan Adams - Waking up the Neighbors
Offspring - Americana
any Weird Al from then ;) (I got Off the Deep End right when it came out)
P.S. Funny that I'm more of a pop fan overall, but the better full albums are usually rock.

I wasn't into rock too much, but I'm gonna name some of the rock albums that I had because the songs stuck out to me in a good way.
(What's The Story) Morning Glory? - Oasis (released October 3, 1995) was one I really liked. Their hit song "Wonderwall" (US #56 in 1996) is on it. I used to put that song on repeat during the nights I was depressed fighting with my dad, which was often.
New Miserable Experience - Gin Blossoms (released August 4, 1992) With "Hey Jealousy" (Us #95 in 1993), Found Out About You, and Hold Me Down
Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness - The Smashing Pumpkins (released October 24, 1995) with "1979" (US #44 in 1996)
Republica - Republica (released July 29, 1996) I will never forget the times from summer of '96, when the "crew" (what we called it) used to drive around in our friend's white 1995 Chevy Caprice station wagon with "Ready To Go" on blasting the stereo. The car actually could fit the 8 of us. "Drop Dead Gorgeous" was actually in the movie Scream, right before Rose McGowan's death scene.
Home - Blessid Union Of Souls (released March 23, 1995) with the songs "I Believe" and "Let Me Be The One" along with my Oasis CD, I used to play this in my depressive states as well.

Keep grooving... :)
Tonic - Lemon Parade
And it's Lemon Parade by Tonic, not the other way around...
I ain't followed this band since Lemon Parade but I had the pleasure of watching this Irish rock band live when they came to the county fair in lil' old Vallejo...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojA9lZciH5U
This is "Wicked Soldier" from Lemon Parade. This record includes lots of references to the troubles in Northern Ireland of times past. I usually turn-up the volume as much as I can stand but tonight I have a headache...

Not too much music I like from the 90's, certainly the music has gone downhill from the 60's 70's and 80's, but "Jagged little pill" was a great album.

Yessir. I saw them in concert in '91 at KUKQ-AM's Q-Fest, along with a slew of other artists I vaguely remember (School Of Fish, Stan Ridgeway and Front 242 were among the other acts from that hazy shade of summer).

I like Very Necessary by Salt N Pepa, though in honesty I think I like the 90s all together, it seems all genres were more creative then whether you talk Metal, Rock, Punk, Grunge, even Dance, Pop and Disco, SNP predate the late 90s and today's hip hop bling, and that album contains some of their best work.

I liked Ace Of Base’s The Sign album which was released in the States 30 years ago. (But it was the following year, 1994, when I received a copy of it.)
