I've always liked REM. Their early stuff is especially good...
But I gotta say that "Shiny Happy People" is among my top five most detested songs ever. Makes me want to punch a mime in the face... :P

Well admittedly its not one of my top fav songs, but itsa great song for kids. I had read an interview with Mike and he said it was a goof!!!
Kinda of an answer to all the serious music they had written.
I really like the early stuff, the IRS stuff in particular.... my signature line on Yahoo was " Standing on the shoulders of giants leaves me cold"

I LOVE 80s REM and really like 90s REM. For some reason, I never liked "Shiny Happy People." However, from the 90s, I like:

They were pretty popular in the 80's and 90's I wish they were still popular in America but they are not.

The album Reveal released in 2001 wasn't bad. Accelerate is good too. Around the Sun was a dud (IMO).
Check out "Imitation of Life"
