The very first lyrics that come to mind are some from Pearl Jam's "Black."  I was obsessed with Ten when it came out, so I think of that album first when I think of the 90's.  I had a MAD crush on this boy named Patrick Garner, and would listen to "Black" over and over.  ::)

I never had my crush either, but I still love that song.  I'm glad that somebody else "gets" it.  :)
