Ah yes, she was a character on Animaniacs, which I do believe we have a general discussion thread about.

I liked some of the cartoons she was in. Most of them featured her saying, "Now that's comedy!!" She had a nephew named Skippy whose signature line was "Spew!" :P

I liked Slappy Squirrel alot. She was one of my favorite Animaniacs character, along with Yakko,Wakko & Dot & Mindy & Buttons.

My favorite episode with Slappy squirrel is when she and Skippy wanted to get some peace and quiet but were disturbed by the Woodstock concert. The band known as The Who was in there, and so Skippy and Slappy went into an Abbott-and-Costello routine about the name of that band. Look, Skippy...do you see the band? No, I see Who! :D

Oh yes, Bobby and Pesto and Squit. In just about every episode with them, at the end, Squit would always say a completely innocent thing, but Pesto would have no idea what it meant, so he'd get into a fist fight with Squit.

For some reason, this thread makes me think of something totally inappropriate :D

Does the '90s board seem like a ghost town today for some reason? ???

Anyway, I got the Animaniacs Vol. 1 DVD for my birthday last month, and it is awesome. Vol. 2 will probably be for Christmas. Of all the auxillary Animaniacs shorts, Slappy would be my favorite.

I was older than 20 when Animaniacs came out but I was able to laugh at the humor. I loved the Woodstock episode!  Made a college paper out of that episode analyzing the humor of animation from the standpoint that the creators make it for children's entertainment, yet they do not forget that adults end up watching too so they put in the sly jokes only older folks will pick up on like the reference in the woodstock scene about "who's on stage" as representative of the "who's on first " bit by abbott and costello.  A riot with a surly squirrel....

Oh yes, I liked the Woodstock episode too (which I've already discussed). ;D

I was in my teens when Animaniacs was on but I, too, loved the humor. ;)

A lot of my classmates and myself included really enjoyed the humor of Animaniacs but Slappy the Squirrel was also amusing.
