Subject: Kids TV show from late 80's

Can anybody tell me what the name of this show was? I can't remember much from it, though I am aware it aired in the early 90's. It consisted of 3? rockers, with 80's style hair, only they had very bright red, green blue hair etc, and they would answer questions that fans wrote in and would sing i think. I remember there being lots of stare swiping from scene to scene. lol, any ideas?

Possibly Jem and the Holograms ???
My sister grew up loving this show.
Their rival band were called the Misfits.

I loved that cartoon!! I wanted the Jem doll. Her clothes were too big for Barbie (shoes too).
