These are songs that were Popular in Both December 1989 and January 1990, making it a "Cusper" (Both an '80s and '90s Song)
Each of the 15 Songs on the Poll were Hits in their respectable genre at the time in both December 1989 and January 1990. Of the 15 choices, which 3 are your favorite? (Pick up to 3)

For every "New Kids On The Block", "Paula Abdul" and "Nelson" there was "MC Hammer", "Faith No More" and "Alice In Chains" to save it ;)

I only vited for 'Another Day in Paradise' because I couldn't choose from the few songs that I liked.
Btw ...
Red Hot Chili Peppers - "Higher Ground"
2 Live Crew - "Me So Horny"
Nine Inch Nails - "Head Like A Hole"
Biz Markie - "Just A Friend"
all sucked ;D

Red Hot Chili Peppers - "Higher Ground" (Underrated RHCP song)
Tom Petty - "Free Fallin'" (Overplayed, even today... but still my favourite Petty song)
Billy Joel - "We Didn't Start The Fire" (Kinda cheesy, but I really like it. A good history lesson ;))

Tell me how you manage to put MC Hammer in the same sentence as Faith No More and Alice In Chains, without saying something like: "MC Hammer sucked compared to such acts as Faith No More and Alice In Chains".

Depeche Mode, baby!
I love the Violator album. That and Exciter (came out in 2001) are the best in their catalogue.

True, BUT 1990 did provide us with 3 of the Best Rock Songs of the entire '90s decade! ("Man In The Box" by Alice In Chains, "Epic" by Faith No More, and "Been Caught Stealing" by Jane's Addiction)
And the Music Videos for them are pretty crazy...and Dated :D

"Epic" came off Faith No More's 1989 album "The Real Thing". Therfore it was a '1989' song. ;)

"Epic" by Faith No More wasn't a Hit until August 1990 though. Sure the "CD" was released in 1989, but the song wasn't released as a single until Mid 1990

If you heard the song, you would know it. It's one of those "Swing" songs you hear alot in Movies

I don't consider their chart-release date to be their actual date. I always consider the album release year/month to be the song release date too.

Well then the majority of songs that are known for a certain year would be alot different now by your logic.
So a song like "Kiss From A Rose" (Which the CD was released in 1994, but the song was a #1 hit in August 1995) would be considered a 1994 song to you?
Interesting, although I believe you would be in the minority with that
