3. Carolina Circle Mall. It had it all including a carousel. RIP Carolina Circle Mall :\'(
4. This old man at church who would give me either Wrigley's green pack, Wrigly's white pack, or Big Red.
5. Starting Kindergarten in August of 1995.
6. Getting our first computer in December of 1995. It was a Packard Bell with Windows 95.

I was born in Jan 1990 (although for some odd reason I have a nagging suspicion I was born in 1991. Probably just my OCD ;D)
I can remember snapshots of 1993, perhaps even late 1992, but 1994-1997 is more (my Nineties). 1996 on is pretty clear. I remember almost none of the music, except for the Macarena and the music of 1999.

Almost the same here. I was born in November of 1989. I mainly remember things from 1993-Present. I think I remember at least to very faint memories from 1992.

I was born in july of 1989.
I remember 1992 or 93' i think, when my brother made me listen to IN BLOOM.
it was cool, but I was amaze about the sub-conscious, when in 1998 i saw the in bloom video and i said to myself "this song is familiar..."
and i asked my mom and she told me that my brother used to listen to it.
Now, he listens Pat Metheny the whole time.
But for me Nirvana my favorite band.
I remember 1993 and 1994, but, i remember my house, and my friend nothing else.
1995 the same. 1996...school, primary school till 2002.
everything is from the mother fudgeing 00's

I was born in May 1987. First year that I have clear memories of is 1991, though I do remember a few things that occurred in 1989. I remember the whole decade pretty well, especially the late '90s. Music: I remember a few of the real big songs from the early and mid '90s. I was a lot more aware of music in the late '90s and easily remember the pop groups that were popular. I got a computer in December 1993 and was online by 1995. I watched a lot of nick till the late '90s. I was quite aware of politics as well, I remember when the first Bush was president, barely, but I do remember. I easily remember 1996 election and I recall watching the results on TV. I remember the Clinton Impeachment very well, I remember pretty much everything that went on. I remember all the jokes on SNL, Leno, and Conan, lol. I remember the OJ simpson trial dominating the news in 1995, and being in school when the verdict was announced.

1993 - Demolition Man
Free Willy
1994 - OJ Simpson Trial
1995 - Windows 95, though I didn't have a computer yet
I remember in the San Jose Mercury Newspaper, an article about people lining up at Fry's Electronics stores at 12 AM to get their preordered copy of Windows 95.
People going crazy over the internet. (People called it the Super Information Highway back then.)

...and I thought I was the youngest in the forum. Of course, the fact my formative childhood years fell in the decade. I was born in 1986, so I was 4 in 1990 and 13 in 1999, had something to do with my nostalgia for the decade. Well I wasn't really in touch with music...I remember very vaguely TV shows such as Seinfeld, McGiver, cartoons like the Rug Rats and shows like Frasier and the Simpsons which are still on today. Basketball and basketball cards were all the rage here in the early 90s, but now has almost died in popularity.

My brother amassed a huge collection of baseball cards, circa 1997. Who know's what they're worth now!
I was born in 1990 (although for some reason I'm suspicious I was born a year later, in 1991. I'm probably just nuts! ;D). The '90s also formed my formative childhood years: until I was almost 10, it was the '90s as long as I could remember.
I remember back to about 1993 or so I believe, but my memories aren't totally clear and cohesive until 1996 or '97. Always knew VHS, DVDS were at best a whisper until 1999 or the early '00s. That's a true Yer there ;D

I was born in september of 1987 and i remember pretty much all the stuff you guys are talking about. Since i watched nick religously until about '01 i can easily remember all the awsome shows they came out with in the 90's. Also since when the decade began i hadnt even started school yet and by the time they were over i was almost finished with middle school they were absolutly the best years of my life so far(everyone says high school is supposed to be the best years of your life but IMO they were the WORST >:() But anyway the first major thing from the 90's i remember is my brothers birth in may of '91. Also i remember H.W Bush, Clinton and his scandals, and the downfall of humanity in 1999

I guess this makes me the "old man" in these parts. ;) 1993-1995 was the second half of my high school years. In those days, my favorite music was a mix of alternative and classic rock; Smashing Pumpkins, Elvis Costello, Dave Matthews Band, and older stuff like The Clash, Police, etc. I inherited a disdain for most pop music from an older sister, so most of what was on the radio at the time was of little interest to me. Y'all be glad to that I'm not nearly the music fascist I was in those days.
Television was mostly limited to regular network programming, as my folks didn't have cable 'til a bit later. My faves: Seinfeld, Drew Carey, Frasier, Simpsons, among many others. PBS reruns of British sitcoms like Red Dwarf and Are You Being Served were also late night regulars, along with David Letterman.
Major news items I remember from this period include the first World Trade Center bombing in '93 and the Branch Davidian disaster in Waco, Texas the same year. Of course, the latter ultimately led Tim McVeigh to the bombing of the Murrah Federal building in Oklahoma City in '95. Together with the fallout of the OJ Simpson trial, it was a stormy couple of years for a lot of people. Can you tell I'm a news geek? :)

Someone here should compose a tribute to the 90's Nickelodeon on their computer. I might be able to. I can see it now.
It could have clips from great shows like Rugrats, Guts, Nick Arcade, Family Double Dare, etc. What kind of music should I add?

Music? How about like "Whoomp! There It Is" and stuff like that. Early-middle '90s kid-oriented music.

I remember that song so well! I was in junior high at the time it came out. A lot of kids were singing it at school, sometimes substituting something naughty for "there it is!" :-X

Ah for a brief glorious period we had Cable TV (Foxtel) and Nick was the channel we watched most (we only had it between about 1998-2000). We have a mere 5 free to air stations (Excluding public tv) down under ABC, Channel 7, 9, 10 and SBS...

I was almost 8 years old when 1990 struck, so the 90's are 100% clear for me. I have no fuzziness from that time whatsoever.
One of my big memories was remembering about the change of the USSR changing back to Russia and Germany,(instead of West & East Germany - after the Berlin Wall came tumbling down in 1989). Also, I remember my 2nd grade class being informed of our country going to war against Iraq (for the first time -the Gulf War). It was a time when there still seemed to be an innocence to life still. Yet, I think as children, we look at the world that way with more nostalgia connected to the past, regardless of how hard times were.
Personally, the 90's I now look back on with some pretty good memories. It's pretty much where I came of age - as far as musical tastes. Beginning High School in 1996 (and pretty much ending highschool) all within the same decade. The 90's really don't seem all that far away, but now looking back, it's also going further and further away from my memory. It's too bad. I wish I had appreciated it more, just like I wish I had appreciated the 80's more - but heck, you're a kid - and you're just livin' life!

Although the 90's started 16 years ago, my memories are quite clear of that time period, and the topic in question (1993-1995) years I recall many things vividly including the O.J. Simpson trial, MTV's Beavis and Butthead, Green Day's "Dookie", Nickelodeon shows such as Are You Afraid of the Dark? and Rocko's Modern Life, The Lion King in theatres, Donkey Kong Country for SNES with 3-D rendering and so on. These years were coincidentally my junior high school years and it baffles me how long ago that was!

Cool 8)
We got our first computer in 1993 (on my birthday, as a matter of fact): a Macintosh Performa, which got outdated quickly. We got a printer for it in 1995. Overall it was very very slow; we typically used it for school and work-related purposes. It also came with a Scrabble game, which I always played by myself.

That part of the 90s didn't go so well for me. Dropping out of college, getting a job in a plastic factory, getting sick and needing major surgery. My roommate getting a new computer with Windows 95, the Oklahoma Bombing, the *first* time some crazy Arab tried to blow up the World Trade Center, those are the main things I remember now.

1993 - I turned 11 years old, was an avid watcher of Ren & Stimpy, loved R & B music, swam a lot that summer, entered 6th grade that fall. I remember the day Polly Klass was kidnapped and the days after that. It was a big deal then.
1994 - Turned 12 that year, entered 7th grade in July (when track schedule instead of traditional schedules went into effect), Moved to a new house that December. Obviously, the big story of that year was O.J. Simpson. It was such a big deal. I remember watching the TV and seeing his White Bronco getting chased after. Also, when I started 7th grade in July of that year, Ace Ventura came out and SO many boys were imitating that "Alrighty Then" talk, it bothered me so much that I had to go to the movies and see what was so funny about it. It was Funny, lol. I remember I went to the movies A LOT that year. I saw "Forrest Gump," "The Lion King," "Speed," "I Love Trouble," etc. Also, it was the year they did the 1994 Woodstock. I sat glued to the TV watching it on Pay-Per-View. I probably still owe my mom money for that Pay-Per-View expenditure ;D
1995 - Turned 13 years old, went to a few amusement parks (Marine World, Great America, etc), started 8th grade that fall (I changed schools that year and returned to traditional schedule). 1995 was the year of the O.J. Trial, Oklahoma City Bombing, Selena - the Tex Mex singer - passed away. It was also the year Mickey Mantle, Frank Sinatra, and Jerry Garcia all passed away. That year was fairly decent.

-Watching Seinfeld, Friends, ER, Married with Children, and Roseanne with my parents.
-TGIF
-Watching Sonic the Hedgehog and the beginning of Power Rangers before I went to pre-school everyday.
