Subject: Favorite "#1" Hit from 1990 (**Last One**)
Written By: TarzSp on 11/10/05 at 7:32 pm
(The rules are changed for this last one since there are alot of different #1's from 1990, so i'm allowing 3 votes at the most))
Also, i've added the exact Date that each song hit #1 for the very first time on the Top 40 Charts
This is a Poll, and on every one is going to be a list of all the songs that Reached #1 on the Top 40 Charts in America that year
Remember, this is the American charts, just so you guys aren't confused
Anyway, pick your favorite #1 Hit song from 1990 8)
(Wow, no offense to people who enjoyed 1990 for music, but UGH!, such a horrible year for music)

Something funny I noticed, 15 Years Ago on this very day (November 10th), Mariah Carey had a #1 Song on the Top 40 Charts. I think she also currently has the #1 song in america right now, 15 years later. Amazing

Better than 1999 8)... though with a couple clunkers, though more favorites than this year alone :P
Paula Abdul "Opposites Attract", Bel Biv DeVoe "Poison", and Billy Idol "Cradle Of Love"

Maybe it's just nostalgia for a personal great year, but I quite like the no1's on here (not all though)... Janet Jackson really did it for me that year!
Even NKOTB's Step By Step was fantastic (the only NKOTB song I like).

This was very hard!!!!!! I love most of these songs. I was 14 at the time and I was a fanatic about mixed tapes.
But, I voted for:
It Must Have Been Love
Cradle of Love (C'mon what chick didn't do the bed dance? okay, maybe I was a dork then :D )
Nothing Compares to You

My picks:
Roam (carry-over from '89)
Black Velvet
Cradle Of Love
Thought I'd tackle this one before I move on to the 1993 thread...
I was only 10 in 1990 so I didn't know a great deal of music at the time. I know quite a few songs from that year now. A few not on this list but hit #1 on the R&B or Modern Rock charts that I like:
"All Around The World" Lisa Stansfield :) 8)
"Enjoy The Silence" Depeche Mode
"Policy Of Truth" Depeche Mode
