Subject: Favorite "#1" Hit from 1999
Written By: TarzSp on 11/10/05 at 4:49 pm
(The rules are that you can now vote for only "2" songs at the most)
Also, i've added the exact Date that each song hit #1 for the very first time on the Top 40 Charts
This is a Poll, and on every one is going to be a list of all the songs that Reached #1 on the Top 40 Charts in America that year
Remember, this is the American charts, just so you guys aren't confused
Anyway, pick your favorite #1 Hit song from 1999 8)
(Amazingly enough, Mariah Carey has had a #1 Song in each year of the 90's. Let's give her a Standing Ovation :D)
Oh, and i've got 1 more to go. I still havent done "1990" yet. That will be next

Umm, are you guys voting for the Artist, or the Actual Song? Because the last 2 posters are only mentioning the Artists
This is about voting for the actual song, not just the artist
Jennifer Lopez, though I like "Waiting For Tonight" better...
That doesent really make any sense, lol, you like "Waiting For Tonight" better than Jennifer Lopez? ???

I meant to say that "Waiting For Tonight" is a better song than "If I Had My Love"
Britney Spears is a no hit wonder in my book :D

Brandy "Have You Ever"... that song used to lull me to sleep every night!
Another good one, my 2nd choice is Savage Garden's "I Knew I loved You".

One of the worst years for music EVER. I picked 'Every Morning'. Sad.

Wow, I liked way more of those than I thought I would. ;)
"All Star" and "I Knew I Loved You" (the last mushy and sweet pop ballad I can recall to make it big) were my picks, although I like about half of them.

"Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)" by Baz Luhrmann got as high as #5 on the Charts on May 1st, 1999. It only stayed on the Top 40 Charts for 9 Weeks
I don't have a clue how that got to #5, it doesent even sound like a song to me, it's crap. And that guy isn't even a Music Artist, what the heck is this guy doing trying to make a song?

I like a lot of these.
"Lullaby" - Shawn Mullins (carry over from '98)
"I Want It That Way" - Backstreet Boys
"Beautiful Stranger" - Madonna
"Genie In A Bottle" - Christina Aguilera
"Bailamos" - Enrique Iglesias
"Smooth" - Santana feat. Rob Thomas
"Mambo #5" - Lou Bega

BTW...
'I want it that way' - Backstreet boys, Britney Spears - 'Hit me baby one more time'
The first Britney song is titled "Baby One More Time"... hit me is not part of the title.
