Written By: TarzSp on 11/07/05 at 11:31 pm
(The new permanent rules are that you can now vote for only "2" songs at the most)
Also, i've added the exact Date that each song hit #1 for the very first time on the Top 40 Charts
This is a Poll, and on every one is going to be a list of all the songs that Reached #1 on the Top 40 Charts in America that year
Remember, this is the American charts, just so you guys aren't confused
Anyway, pick your favorite #1 Hit song from 1995 8)

Here Comes the Hotstepper by Ini Kamoze appears to be missing from this list. It was #1 on Billboard January 14 and 21 in 1995
I just noticed these ones that are in the poll:
I Know by Dionne Farris only reached #4
Water Runs Dry by Boys II Men only reached #2
Red Light Special by TLC also only reached #2
I'll Be There For You by the Rembrants only reached #17

I'm getting my #1's from this site http://www.rockonthenet.com/archive/index.htm
The ARC's Top 40 (Which goes by total airplay, which I think is the best list anyway). It's the only chart archive I could even find. I have not been able to find a detailed archive from Billboard, so I don't use that one
Plus, I feel that the Billboard Charts are weaker, they usually will only have a total of maybe 5 or 6 different songs that reached #1 each year because most of their #1 songs are #1 for like a total of 9 straight weeks, while the ARC Top 40 is alot better as it has alot more different songs at #1 based on the Airplay it recieves on the radio, so you have a larger choice of songs using the ARC Top 40

This was the year I turned 21 and I definately remember hearing Coolio's Gangsta's Paradise and Montel Jordan's This is How We Do It a lot at our college bar. Anytime I would want to get in the mood to go out I would listen to Gangsta's Paradise!!!
Boy this year sure brings back a lot of memories for me!

I liked a great deal of these songs ten years ago. Now, I think my picks will be (in no particular order):
Creep
I'll Be There For You... and
Runaway
