Part of the lyrics are( like a river flowing into the ocean, i can feel your flowing back to me. our love is like a sacred(or secret) emotion.... for all the world to see!
I don't think the group is color me bad, although it sounds like them. Has anybody heard this song??

That would be Sacred Emotion by Donny Osmond.
It was the 2nd single taken from his 1989 self-titled comeback album. It peaked at #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart on June 17, 1989 :)
