Cher was in the spotlight before she had a number one record with The Shoop Shoop Song (It's In His Kiss) in 1991, also another number in 1995 with Chrissie Hynde & Neneh Cherry with Eric Clapton, with Love Can Build A Bridge.

Aerosmith's first #1 hit (since their formation 25 yrs. earlier) was "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" which was #1 for 4 weeks in the summer of 1998.

Deborah Gibson, well sucessful in my book...I've always prefer her music than Jewel & Celine Dion (two popular songbirds in the '90's) anytime  8) :)
If she doesn't count: Santana

Some actors of the 1970's made a big comeback in the 1990's with hit movies - Such as John Travolta in "Pulp Fiction," Susan Surandon & Tommy Lee Jones in 1994's "The Client," and a few others to name... Even Keanu Reeves had a comeback with "Speed." After that, he was kinda cemented in our (or at least my mind) as not that guy from "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure," but as a totally hot leading actor!

Yeah... Though she's vcery talented, still don't understand how can anybody ignore an artist who's also very beautiful (Knowing that the music biz is also about looks, for the better or for the worse)
Though Deborah Gibson did have a successful career in theatre in the '90's and this decade..., but her albums should get the recoginition they deserve. :)

What chart position did "The Shoop Shoop Song" reach in the UK?

You can't forget about Santana who closed out the decade with that mega-big comeback hit 'Smooth' :)

Great ones mentioned already!
Even though I've never been much of a Cher fan, I admit I really liked "Believe" when it came out a few years ago - it kinda sounded like a mix of 80's pop with the electronic dance sound that was still semi popular then.
Other 90's comeback hits I like (some already mentioned - some are still 80s like too):
Thunderstruck - AC/DC
Wild Night - John Cougar Mellencamp
Ordinary World - Duran Duran
I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing - Aerosmith (they've kinda had the same comeback since '87, but this was their first #1)
I Don't Wanna Fight - Tina Turner
True Colors - Phil Collins
