Seven, when the "glutton" victim was found, and the ending was a bit of a surprise.

As far as horror scenes go, I can't honestly say that I have ever cringed at one because most of the time they are predictable ( and like any good American I am desensitized to violence because that's all they show on TV )*. Now as far as saying " Oh S**t  ( or something to a similar effect ), 4 movies are stand outs:

1: Pulp Fiction ( several times )
2: Natural Born Killers ( several times )
3: *A Clockwork Orange ( probably cringed some there as I saw it when I was like 14 and was very shocking at that age and still is now ) and









4: South Park Movie-Bigger, Longer, Uncut ( I probably cussed more in hysterical laughter in the first 10 minutes of that movie than all other movies put togther ).

Oh yeah, come to think of it, thats sooooo trye.... I went to the theater and saw that movie alone on an idle tuesday  matinee at the mall and there was like three people in the theater, and i was doing that same thing....cussing randomly and laughing , during that begining, Uncle Fckr.. stuff LOL:P:P That movie had so much political sattire it WAS hilllarious:P

I've gotta agree with that.

I'm slightly squeamish of insects and spiders (heck, that kind of stuff is scarier to me than Halloween-ish monster movies sometimes. Maybe because it's actually real, and even though the scenes are obviously exaggerated, it's not impossible to happen, the way a Freddy Kreuger movie is).

Oh, btw, the entire American History X would qualify in my book - I had to watch it for an English class a couple years ago, some hard/scary scenes to watch in that (including the curb one). Again, I think that's just because it's "real world" stuff.

i can't watch the village scene in platoon. it makes me ill. in fact i get emotional and i want to change the scene.

I remember that - I'm glad I was with company at the time! Creepy.

I think a good portion of Carrie (both the 70's version and the semi recent "made for TV" remake) fits too. Especially the pig butchering scene - that literally was hard to watch.

I've seen many of the movie scenes others have mentioned such as the Indiana Jones movies and Arachnophobia. Would like to add 5 more to the list:

1: Rape scene in " Boys Don't Cry ". No cringing really, just made me feel ill and depressed.
2: Many scenes from " Saving Private Ryan " made me cringe and go " Oh S**t " throughout the movie. Like the scene were the guy gets a knife in the chest from the enemy they released earlier, the opening scene where they open the door to the landing craft and everyone is instantly machine-gunned to death, and the scene where they guy is planting an explosive on a tank and it detonates blowing him to bits ( for starters ).
3: Several cringes and " Oh S**ts " on almost any unedited "accident" type film ( that are training videos or warning/shock videos ).  :o
4: Not really a movie but almost any TV show where they show some medical procedure makes me queasy ( because THAT IS REAL ). and...

5: Almost any " adult " film makes me say expletives ( of amazement usually ). ;)


Asked my wife this question and she only had two " cringes " ( she does not curse ).

1: LOTR 3 when Frodo walks in the cave and it turns out to be a giant spider.
2: Just the previews for any spider movie ( even Spider Man ) make her cringe or jump.

Yes, she hates spiders. She loves the Red Ant though. :)

What's that film called where Sylvester Stallone is a mountain rescue guy,  and is shimmying along a rope across two mountains (???) thousands of feet up, and you get a view of whats below him should he fall..that freaks me right out cos' I can't bear massive heights.


Also when that strange little Elfin character dressed in red and green  runs through the forest in the film FLATLINERS...that is so creepy    :o

I have to definitly agree there.  I have not seen that whole movie but I have seen that scene and if that whole scene doesn't make you cringe than not much will.

I am kind of surprised no one has mentioned any of the scenes from "The Exorcist" the orginial of course.  There a couple scenes in there that can make you cringe.

Maybe it's like rubbernecking at a car wreck on the highway, the special effects, or it could just be I'm a fan of Tommy Lee Jones. But I can't stand it when the fire engine is hit by the lavabomb. while they get most of the injured firemen off, we constantly hear the driver screaming for help as he watches the lava coming, but by the time someone goes back to save him, it's too late, they both burn to death. >:( I can forgive Jones's character because he saw his daughter hit by flaming debris and goes to help her, but not the rest. Thank gosh Men In Black came out later that summer, or Tommy Lee's career would've gone down in flames with this wreck.

There was this kind of stupid one similar to volcano,but a guy creates volcanoes artificially.In one scene the fire comes up from the hole,at a guy,then something flaming falls to the ground.the camera comes closer and it's the guy's head burned to the bone.There's another guy watering his lawn.The water shuts off and manhole covers start flying,while his dog barks.his dog stops barking and he tries the door,which is hot.he uses his sleeve to open the door,and a wall of flame comes out and engulfs him.

While on vacation, I watched all three Final Destination movies. The last two had hilarious death scenes. We were laughing hysterically at them. We watched the movies in reverse order, so a day before I was to fly back I saw the original, in which most everyone dies in a fiery plane crash. Since I had never flown at night, nor for about 15 years prior to my flight to Tampa, I was a bit shaken, and couldn't get that idea out of my head. Two double margaritas and three Jack & Cokes took care of that though....

You should avoid sites like ebaumsworld and nothingtoxic then. Almost every day they have video clips of people (mostly skaters) breaking bones in pretty nasty spills.

i can't think of the name of the movie. it's a time of day like 9:15, but i don't know what. anyways, in one scene, these 3 teenagers are all in a big van. the driver is sober, and so ids one of the other 2 guys. but  the other one is drunk. wasted. he decides it would be a good idea to take a pee out the car door. so he opens the door (one of those sliding ones common in vans) and begins to relieve himself. as he's peeing, a girl steps into the middle of the road. the driver slams on his breaks causing the door to slam shut chupping the guy's penis off. scenes like that really get to you. another scene is from hostile. if you don't know what it's about, it's basically about a group of people who kidnap people and let people pay to torture them (for the pleasure). so this girl is tied up in one of the chairs and the guy has a pair of pliers. he puts her big toe in the middle of the tool and squeezes it so hard her toe bursts! UUUUGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!

The scene in the Michael Moore movie Sicko were the guy is stitching up his own knee.  That went right through me. :P

Let's see...if I had to pick a few scenes that made me cringe I'd say:

It is the soap in the socks scene Full Metal Jacket that does it for me, the thuds make you feel the pain.

The horrific scene in The Patriot when Jason Isaacs and his band of war criminals burn the church down with all the townsfolk trapped inside! I could truly feel Heath Ledger's pain when he found his wife's ashes, and that ruined the movie for me.

Braveheart....  As far as I can remember, pretty much the whole movie. I had to finally walk away from it because I was driving my friends crazy with all the "EWWWWW!!"s. War is Hell.  And gross.

Basically all the scenes in Hotel Rwanda where they are seeing how massive the death toll is.  Same with that one scene in Life is Beautiful.

And that they are based on true life events make it all the more horrifying.  Truly!

I saw watchmen last night... I was saying holy shyt a lot...the violence was pretty graphic.... I liked it (the violence...not the movie)  ;D
