My vote is for Mortal Kombat.

Actually, I'm not a fan of either, but I will go with Streetfighter because I've played Puzzle Fighter, a variation of the game which uses blocks.

I went with Street Fighter, though I like both of them a bit.

Many gamers today would go for Street Fighter instead, which is weird(but maybe the Gore and stuff just got really old after a while).

Street Fighter...no argument.

street fighter is better as a series, no doubt

but Mortal Kombat 2 was THE king of 2-d Fighters back in the day, Super SF2 and MK1 are IMO tied for 2nd best. Man those were some fun times at the arcades back in the early 90s.

If your talking best it would go MK1 (Genesis) and then SFII (SNES).

Mind you MK! sucked on the SNES since it had all those terrible finishing moves..

Street Fighter by far. Fatalities were cool back in the day, but MK's battle system and characters were far inferior.

I picked Mortal Kombat just for the range of characters an the originality of the "Fatality" moves. The blood and gore kinda drew me in too. Don't get me wrong street fighter was great too, but the movie was just so WRONG!!! Mortal Kombat's movie had a cheese factor too it, but at least its' kick@$$ soundtrack made up for it.

While I enjoyed SF immensely... Mortal Kombat takes the cake. The blood and gore, the death moves, the music... it was all just too cool.

My vote is for Mortal Kombat.


Mine too. So many fun and hilarious memories of playing this for hours with my friends . . . we all had our signature characters, they almost became our alter egos lol.

I liked the original Mortal Kombat, but I was bored with the later ones. I picked Street Fighter primarily for the larger fighting style differences between the characters and the smoothness of the action.

I sucked at Mortal Komba, so I chose Street Fighter.  Years ago, at the local arcade that was here (now long closed), the "Street Fighter II: Champion Edition" had a glitch in it where if you used Blanka, you could do a super slow Ryu uppercut that drained like half of your opponents energy.  I never knew how to do it .. it would just occur.

The funniest was when the B-boys would come in and I'd beat them.  They'd get all pissed off and threaten me to a real fight outside  ::)  "If you can't beat me, then don't play the game"  ;D

I chose Mortal Kombat for the gore and killer techno choon by The Immortals.  8)

It has to be Mortal Kombat, if not for just for that insane music in the movie!

I used to spend hours at arcades playing these games... ahhh, the memories!

Both games were cool, but I pick Street Fighter, since I found the game play on it smoother.
